Sagwa stood outside the cabin, training.
Well, she had been training but she decided to take a brake after finding a stray dog in the bushes.
She had been busy trying to figure out what had been on Gabe's laptop, because earlier when she had tried to access his files, she hadn't been able to get in due to it being password protected and that was strange because the only time Gabe would do something like that was if he was hiding something from her.
And if he was hiding something from her, she knew that it involved her and it was probably bad.
Taking the dog she had found in the bushes, Coffee, inside, she decided to go and see someone to find out who the Hunter that had attacked her was.**********
Sagwa stood in the G&J offices.
They were the law firm that worked for Jack.
One of the partners, Jerred, was close with Sagwa, and she knew that he was her only hope now.
Looking over at the receptionist, she realized she might have some problems getting to see him.
''Hi, I'm here to see Jerred." The woman at the desk looked at her like she had two giant purple heads.
"Do you have an appointment?" she asked.
''Um, well, no, but-''
The annoying woman cut her off, ''Then you won't be able to see him, I'm afraid."
Sagwa sighed, ''I'll be honest here, i wasn't really asking.''
The woman gave her a confused look as she turned and walked into Jerred's office, noticing he was in the middle of a meeting with a client.
He frowned slightly before asking the man in a terrible blue suit to leave.
Turning to Sagwa, his frown deepened, ''Are you okay?''
Sagwa sighed, deciding that in this case, honesty was the best policy.
She explained that Jack and Darla had used her in one of their latest experiments, but she didn't explain what exactly they had done.
Then she got down to the real reason she was there; she needed to find out who had been hired to kill her. She gave him a description of the Hunter.
Jerred sighed, "Sagwa. . . Do you even know what you've gotten yourself into?"
Sagwa crossed her arms over her chest, "I know that Jack wants me dead; its enough."
"Sagwa, you've got yourself on Kreed Cortez's radar."
Sagwa frowned, she had heard of him, but she hadn't known he was still around; the best Hunter in the business. An undefeated killer. And she had just pissed him off.
Jerred recognized the look on her face, "What did you do?"
Sagwa bit the inside of her mouth, "I may have beat him up and left him in a cabin in the middle of nowhere," Sagwa looked up, "And stole his car."
"You WHAT?! Sagwa! Have you lost your mind?"
Sagwa sighed, "Jerred, he was gonna kill me, what was I supposed to do? Let him? It was self defense."
Jerred started pacing, "You need to leave. Change your hair colour. I'll get you a fake passport and I.D, a new name."
Sagwa lent forward and gripped his shoulders, "Whoa. J, I appreciate it, but I'm not running. Jack fucked up, he had that bitch Darla turn me into an animal. And now because I want to stop them from doing that to others, he wants me dead."
Jerred frowned, "You - ? You're the Hybrid ?"
Sagwa nodded, "Yeah. Funny thing is Jack thought he was making an awesome choice. All he's done is create a curse, not just for me, but for himself."
"You can't take Jack on, not in this, Sagwa. He'll make an army of hybrids just to take you down if he has to."
Sagwa shrugged, "I doubt he'll be that stupid, but if he is, then I'll be waiting. In the meantime I have a problem called Cortez to deal with."**********
Sagwa walked into the cabin, "Cortez. Kreed fucking Cortez. That's who the Hunter is."
All eyes turned to her.
Gabe frowned, "As in The Kreed Cortez?"
Sagwa sat down on the counter, "The one and only."
"And you've managed to piss him off."Red went white.
Em frowned, "Why didn't you just kill him?"
"Jack created me to be a killer. I'm not a killer."
Gabe scratched his head, "Well maybe you should start being one, especially considering that your dear friend Cortez will probably find you, and us, soon"
Sagwa lent forward resting her arms on her legs, "He has a way of finding people no matter what. Maybe its time we relocate."
"Well if this guy is so good, won't he just keep finding you?"Emily had started pacing.
Sagwa shrugged, "I dunno, probably. But I need a bit of time to figure out what I'm gonna do."
Red stood, "Okay, we pack up, but where do we go?"
Gabe shrugged, "I'm out of places."
Em chewed her lip, "Underground."
Everyone turned to her.
"What?"Asked Red.
"We can go underground. My father used to work in the tunnels before they closed up, so I have the maps, I've been down there a few times too." She replied.
Red looked appalled, "Underground? I'm sorry, Em, but have you lost your mind?"
Sagwa jumped off the counter, "No, she's right. It would be safer."
"But there's rats!"Said Red.
Sagwa patted him on the shoulder as she walked passed, "Oh, don't worry, city boy, they won't eat you."
Emily laughed at the look of fear and shock on Red's face.
Sagwa started packing, throwing things into, the box.
Gabe grabbed her hands, "Whoa, this stuff is delicate."
Sagwa rolled her eyes, "Oh please-"
Gabe cut her off, "For a chick, you're about as delicate as a fucking bulldozer."
Sagwa laughed, "I do fighting, not ballet."
Emily came to help pack as Sagwa headed outside with Coffee.
She turned and saw a motor bike in the distance, "Oh crap. Guys! We gotta go!"
She ran inside, "We got company."**********
Well, the tunnels weren't so bad, Sagwa observed as she looked around the large clearing they were using.
They had tables set up on one side, and make shift beds scattered across the floor.
She was pacing, "I have to get out, go for a walk or something. I'm going insane stuck in here."
Gabe rolled his eyes at her, "Sugs, we've only been here for two days."
"And I need my air! I'll see you guys just now."
"What if Cortez finds you?"Asked Red.
Sagwa laughed, "I'll turn into a werewolf and bite him."
Red sighed as she disappeared down the tunnel, "Is it just me, or does she love danger?"
Emily shook her head, "She's crazy."
"A chick that's not afraid of anything. Damn, how did I let that go?"Asked Gabe, not noticing the pained look he got from Emily.**********
Sagwa was in the graveyard putting flowers on her mothers grave when she heard a deep voice behind her.
"Going into hiding means that you don't go into public places. The graveyard is still very public."
Sagwa didn't bother standing up or turning around, she knew who the voice belonged to, "Cortez."
"So, did you miss the memo about going into hiding?"
Sagwa stood and faced him, "How did you find me?"
"I followed you to the tunnel." He replied as if it were obvious.
Sagwa crossed her arms, "Okay. Look, I don't know what I can say to make you not kill me, but -"
He cut her off, "You can't say anything. I have a job to do. Now come."
Sagwa didn't have chance to protest as he clamped a hand down around her arm and dragged her toward his car.
She got in without a sound, realizing that this time there was nothing she could do but face her fate. . .
