Sagwa sat on the counter in the kitchen in Kreed's black button up shirt, her hair was loose and wet from her bath and she wore no make up.
Kreed walked in and frowned at her.
Sagwa raised an eyebrow, "What?"
He shook his head, not voicing the thoughts running through his mind about how much of her legs were visible in that shirt of his.
Sagwa shrugged, "Okay then."
He stared at her for a few seconds before turning and busying himself with something in the sink.
Sagwa cleared her throat, "Um, I noticed there's a small beach down there, is it fine if I take a walk?"
"No."
"Please, I'm going to die soon, I'd like to enjoy life as much as I can."
He paused, "No."
Sagwa got off the counter and went and sat on the couch.
"Its better at night. We can take a walk then."
She turned slightly, '''What?''
Kreed didn't turn from the sink, ''We'll go tonight.''
She smiled and turned back toward the windows, not noticing the look on his face as he turned to her.
He frowned, 'What the hell are you doing, Cortez? Why isn't she dead yet?' he silently asked himself.

**********

That night Sagwa was staring at the plate infront of her, she hadn't touched the food on it.
Kreed frowned, "You not eating?"
Sagwa shook her head.
"Ok, let's go." Kreed stood and pulled her to her feet.
Sagwa frowned, "Where?"
"Your walk on the beach."
"I'm still in your shirt."
"There's no one around."
Sagwa walked out with him close behind.
She stopped once she got on the beach, "Wow."
The full moon lit up the sea, and the beach sand.
Kreed stood next to her with his hands in his pockets and his jaw clenched tightly closed.
Sagwa smiled, "Things like this make me scared to die."
Kreed frowned slightly, he hadn't expected that type of honesty and vulnerability from her.
Sagwa crossed her arms over her chest and her eyes filled with tears, "I wish Jack had just killed me. This waiting, knowing I'm going to die, its driving me crazy. For the first time in my life, I'm actually afraid of something."
Kreed sighed, "Don't do that."
"What?"
"Cry. Be upset. Death can't be worse then living."
Sagwa frowned at him, "How can living be worse then dying?"
"Drop it."
"You know, we've all been through hurt, just-"
"Look, my life life just isn't worth living. There's nothing to keep me going."
Sagwa nodded, "I get what you mean."
Kreed frowned, ''How could you possibly get what I mean?''
"I just do. You're a hunter, you're trained to be a cold blooded killer with no emotions; Its only obvious you'll feel like dying is better then living, you've never known better, you've never stopped to take a look at the beautiful things in life that actually do make it worth living. There's a lot of things in the world that would keep you going, if you just allow yourself to stop and take notice.''She hadn't meant to lecture him, but she realized once she was done that that is exactly what she had done.
She turned when she realized he was silently staring at her, ''What?''
Kreed shook his head slowly, "Nothing... I... I just....'''His voice trailed off, leaving his sentance unfinished, there was no way he could tell her that he believed what she was saying, and there was no way that he could tell her he wanted that reason in life.
He kept his eyes on her as she turned back to the sea before she sprinted toward it. Despite himself, he couldn't help the faint smile that played on his lips as he watched her swim, he didn't understand why, but there was just something about Sagwa that stood out, that made him feel different. He knew he would still kill her, there was no doubt of that, he hadn't fallen for her, nor did he plan to. But she had somehow made him feel slightly more free, which he realized was crazy, but true.
He frowned as she called to him to join her, 'Do not even think of it, Cortez.' he ignored his own warning and threw off his shirt as he ran to join her in the waves.
And only then, as he reached her did he realize that maybe, just maybe, he was in trouble after all.
Because for the first time in his intire life, did he feel regret over the fact that he needed to kill someone.
And for the first time, he felt like maybe life was worth living after all.
