Sagwa sat with her hands in her lap staring out the passenger window.
She blinked, swallowing the lump in her throat, "You don't have to kill me. Whatever they injected into me is killing me anyway."
He frowned, "You'd say anything to stop me from killing you."
"I'll show you. There's a disk with all the details on. I'm dying. My friend Gabe found out while he was trying to find a cure. He didn't tell me though, and I found it by accident."
Kreed glanced at her briefly, "What's that on your wrist?"
Sagwa glanced down briefly, "Oh, um, its a bracelet. My mother gave it to me before she died. It belonged to my father apparently."
Kreed seemed to be slightly shocked, but he didn't say anything.
Sagwa lent her head on the window, "How long are we driving for?"
"Long enough."
Sagwa closed her eyes, she was exhausted from all the stress, she was normally a very strong person, but as she fell asleep, a single tear escaped and ran down her cheek.
Kreed sighed and lay his jacket over her as she shifted in her sleep.**********
"She should be back by now." Said Red.
Em bit her thumbnail, "Do you think Kreed found her?"
Gabe was pacing, "I hope not. . . We have to get to her somehow before its too late."
"Maybe Kreed won't kill her."Suggested Red.
Gabe stopped, "We still need to get to her. The virus they injected her with is killing her."
Red went white and took a step back, "What."
Emily wrapped her arms around Red to comfort him as he stood shaking with worry.
"I've been trying to create a cure."
Em frowned, "We need to find her, and soon."
Red frowned, ''Why didn't you say anything sooner? Maybe we would have been able to come up with something.''
Gabe shook his head, not having any answers.**********
Sagwa opened her eyes, they had stopped moving was the first thing she noticed.
The second was that she had a black jacket over her.
It was dark outside.
Sagwa sat up quickly, looking around, Where was Kreed?
She was just about to open the door and run when she saw the handcuff that was holding her to the door.
She sighed and hung her head back, onto the head rest, ''Trust him to carry handcuffs.''
She had her eyes closed and jumped when the drivers door opened, yelping at the same time.
Kreed raised his eyebrows, "Yes, I thought you'd be awake by now."
Sagwa jangled her handcuffed wrist, "What's up with the jewellery?"
Kreed smiled sarcastically, "You don't think I'd risk letting my prey get away, do you?"
"Well I need the toilet."
"I'm not that stupid, Hybrid."
Sagwa frowned, "Please. You can follow me to the door, there's no way I would be able to run."
Kreed slammed the door closed and went around to the passenger seat, opening the door. He unlocked the cuff around her wrist and his hand replaced the cool metal.
He put his other hand on her waist and helped her out of the van with a lot more gentleness then the first time he had pulled her out.
He kept his hand on her wrist the whole walk to the toilet doors.
"Don't be long, and don't try anything stupid."
Sagwa nodded and hurried into the room, closing the door quickly.
She actually did need to pee, but after, she hunted the windows quickly to see if she could sneak out one of them.
An inpatient knock came through the door, "You trying to escape?"
Sagwa paused, "No."
She found an open window.
She stared up at it, wondering if she should try and run.
Before she had the chance to decide she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist and hold her tight against a toned chest.
Kreeds face was right next to hers, "I thought I told you not to try and run."
Sagwa froze, "I, uh, didn't. I saw a bug, so I stopped. If I wanted to try and run, I would have done it already."
Kreed let her go and stepped back, he stared at her for a second before grabbing her wrist and tugging her out of the bathroom with him. It was clear he didn't believe her story.
When Sagwa got back into the van he went for the hand cuffs.
Sagwa pulled her arms back, "Wait. Um, don't cuff me. My wrist is sore, I won't try anything."
Kreed looked down at her wrist, it did have a red, raw looking ring around it.
He frowned, he wanted to reach out to her, 'What's wrong with me?'
He looked up, he was good at his job, no matter what. He grabbed her wrist and returned the cuff to it roughly.
Sagwa sighed when Kreed slammed the door, her chances of getting away were getting worse and worse.
Kreed got in and started the van in silence and took off.
"I'm hungry."She said, after a few minutes of silence.
"You're my prisoner, not my fucking guest."
Sagwa toyed with the handcuff with her free hand, this was not going to be easy.
Kreed chucked a brown bag at her, "There's burgers."
Sagwa didn't need to be told twice, she was starving.
"No one can accuse you of being to lady like, at least."
Sagwa swallowed the last of her burger, "Screw you."
Sagwa heard him saying something along the lines of "you wish" but she was too busy looking in the mirror at the police car behind them.
She smiled, this was it, she would be free.
Kreed glanced at her, then in the rear view mirror, "Shit." He lent over to uncuff her but Sagwa hit and kicked at him, no way in hell was she letting him get out of this.
He swerved and eventually stopped, the cop car stopping behind them.
Sagwa smiled, "I'm free, you stupid dick."
Kreed pulled out a gun and held it low, "I'll just kill them."
Sagwa's smile left her face and she sat quietly and let him undo the cuff around her wrist just as the officer knocked on his window, she couldn't let someone else die because of her.
Kreed rolled the window down, "Sorry about that officer, my little sister has had a bit too much to drink.
Sagwa snorted, 'Little fucking sister my ass.'
The police man bent and looked across at Sagwa, "Everything okay, Miss?"
Sagwa glanced briefly at the hidden gun Kreed still held, "Yes."
The officer stood, "I'd like to take a look in the back."
Sagwa watched as Kreed got out behind the officer and walked to the back.
She glanced in the review, she knew Kreed was going to shoot the officer. But what Kreed apparently didn't realize was that there was another police man in the car.
Sagwa bit her lip, "Do not even think about helping him!" She whispered to herself.
She bit into her lip harder, hard enough that she tasted the coppery taste of blood, she closed her eyes tightly, trying to fight her urge to help Kreed.
Giving in, she opened her eyes with a sigh and jumped out the car, walking over to where Kreed stood with the police man.
Kreed glared at her like he was warning her that if she tried anything he would shoot her too.
Sagwa crossed her arms and looked at the officer, "I was wondering if your partner would like some coffee?"
Kreed frowned slightly and turned, squinting into the dark to see the other policeman in the car.
Quick as lightning Kreed shot the police man and turned the gun on the other officer.
Sagwa sunk to the floor, 'Oh my god, what did i do?'
Kreed sighed, "Stay there while I clean this up."---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
