6- Harry Has A History Lesson

Harry still felt very uncomfortable. They carried on talking for about half an hour before the centaur man (Chiron) slammed his hoof against the floor, gaining everyone's attention.

"We will not be able to come to a conclusion today." He declared, "we may as well stop now. Everyone go back to your activities. Harry will stay in the big house until we can work out what is going on. Piper would you give Harry a tour of the camps?"

"Yer sure," Piper got to her feet and gestured for Harry to follow her. As the entire room filed out and all of the teens exited the big house Piper led Harry back outside.

"Um so where do you want to start?" Piper asked. Harry shrugged. Piper laughed, "you don't talk much do you?"

"Oh I do, I just couldn't get a word in, what with Annabeth and all those other people." Harry laughed with her.

"You're British," Piper noticed, "and sorry about Annabeth, it's just she's pretty annoyed at the moment."

"Why?" Harry asked as they began to walk.

"Because her boyfriend Percy Jackson is missing, again."

"Again?"

"Yet, this exact thing happened about two years ago, Percy disappeared and another boy took his place here," Piper explained, "but we've had little in the way of monster attacks in two years. But now this, something is going to happen soon, we're demigods we can't live peaceful lives, that's just how it works."

Harry looked at her blankly, "I'm sorry, no one has explained to me exactly what a demigod is."

"Oh sorry," Piper laughed, "ever heard of the Greek or Roman gods?" Harry nodded, "well they're real, and they come to earth and have children with mortals, some gods more than others, take Apollo for example, the God of the sun. He has a lot of children!"

"Oh okay," Harry nodded, "and you're a child of?"

"Aphrodite," Piper told him, "the love goddess." The walked into a U of cabins, "these are the original Olympian cabins, but over the past years we've been adding more and more cabins for the minor gods."

"And what's that?" He pointed at a shimmering golden doorway that stood behind a burning fireplace.

"That is the portal," Piper smiled at it, "you see there are two Demigod camps, this one, the Greek Camp Halfblood and the second, the Roman Camp Jupiter, they at opposite ends of the country. At the end of the giant war the gods gifted us with this portal because the camps are at peace. If we step through there then we will be at Camp Jupiter."

Harry nodded, feeling a bit overwhelmed by all of the new information.

Piper saw his confusion, "I know it's a lot to take in. I still remember when I first found out, I wouldn't have belived it if I hadn't fallen off of the grand canyon and been flown back up," she reminisced, "ah times."

Harry noticed that she didn't say good times. Just times. A conch horn sounded across the valley.

"Lunch!" Piper grinned, "great, I'm starving! C'mon I'll show you the mess hall."
