Annabeth jolted awake from one of her normal nightmares and sat up abruptly.

She saw Percy sat at the end of the bed looking at his hands. She could see that he was hurting. She knew that he would be blaming himself for loosing Hazel.

He was so engrossed in his hands that he didn't even notice her, “it's not your fault, you know that right.”

Percy looked up. She saw pain behind his beautiful sea green eyes, “I could have saved her.”

Annabeth put her arm around her, “Percy, you did everything that you possibly could. We will get Hazel back. No one is dieing this time.”

Percy let out a bitter laugh, “when we make it through this war I'm taking an early retirement.”

“I'll join you in that.” Annabeth agreed, “we've already graduated from collage, we can get that apartment that we were looking at in New Rome and buy seventeen cats.”

“Why cats?” Percy frowned, “and why seventeen.”

“Cats are cute,” Annabeth shrugged, “and I like the number seventeen.” Annabeth checked the time quickly, “Styx, we overslept! We need to get to breakfast.”

Annabeth jumped out of bed and grabbed one of Percy’s shirts, she discarded her old one and shoved Percy’s top on. She offered him a hand and pulled him too his feet and they began to make their way towards the dining pavilion.

Annabeth could tell that Percy was hiding something. But she didn't press him for anything. His fatal flaw was already weighing on him and she didn't want to add anything to that.

When they entered everyone was eating. Percy pecked Annabeth on the lips and walked off to the Poseidon table. Annabeth joined her sibling at the Athena table. She sacrificed some food to her mother and dug into her food.

Chiron (who had just finished a conversation with Percy and Jason) walked back to the head table and called for attention, “Heroes, as you can tell we are at war with Nyx. Therefore I'm going to have to increase the training schedule.” A few campers groaned but most stayed silent, “senior campers will be taking classes in things that they are expert in. Schedules for each cabin will be posted in here by the end of breakfast. That is all.”

Annabeth finished off her breakfast and walked over to Chiron, “am I doing strategies?”

Chiron nodded, “you, Malcome and Hermione will be helping you too.”

Annabeth nodded, “I'll be at the big house in a few.”

She walked over to the Poseidon table where Percy was mid pancake pile.

“Are you teaching sword fighting?” Annabeth slipped into the seat next to him.

Percy nodded and said something, but she couldn't understand what he said because his mouth was full of pancake.

“Don't talk with your mouth full Seaweed Brain!” Annabeth chided him.

Percy swallowed, “yer, I'm going through some basic moves with Ron, Harry, Hermione and Ginny first thing.”

“Don't impale them,” Annabeth warned him, before kissing him and walking off towards the Big house to find her brother Malcome.
