Harry had seen plenty of magical creatures in his time (mostly because of Hagrid’s weird obsession with anything that could kill a person) but he had never seen so many monsters as had gathered around the boundaries of Camp Halfblood and Camp Jupiter.

Over the past few days hundreds upon thousands of monsters had been surrounding the camp.

According to Percy even the Long Island Sound was full of Telkines. The campers were trapped.

Hermione, Annabeth and the rest of the Athena cabin had been working their butts off researching anything that they thought could help them.

But still no one was sure who they were fighting. They were pretty sure that it was Nyx. But she hadn't shown herself or given any clues that it was her.

Percy had been training Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione (when she wasn't researching) and in turn they had been educating the campers about the magical world.

Three days after the monsters started arriving the army was bigger than ever.

Chiron called a counsellors meeting and they IMed the senate at the same time. (Why they couldn't just meet in the same place like they did when Percy got back to camp Harry didn't understand.)

They were discussing their plans for the war. Harry zoned out and looked out of the window.

Before the monsters had seemed to be in complete disarray. But now they were starting to form up, and then Harry saw a large white flag waving above the army. A ‘we come in peace’ flag.

“Guys!” Harry got to his feet and walked to the window. The Greeks all joined him.

“Oh boy,” Percy grinned, “I hate it when the enemy uses those, it makes them so much harder to beat up.”
Everyone ignored him.

“It's a trap,” Annabeth declared.

“Of course it's a trap,” Hermione agreed, “but we have to go for it don't we.”

Annabeth nodded, “three people should go, that's the optimum number for a quest,” she rattled off her plan, not seeming to care if anyone was listening, “one Greek, one Roman and a wizard so that everyone is represented and-.”

“I'll go,” Percy cut her off. Harry had noticed that no one ever cut Annabeth off, and the one time that Leo had she had given him a look that said ‘I will gut you like a fish’.

But apparently because they were dating Annabeth did not want to gut Percy like a fish. That was probably a sensitive subject for Percy being the son of Poseidon.

“Me too,” Harry found himself saying. Everyone looked towards the Iris Message in which the Romans were mumbling to themselves.

“I'll go,” Hazel got to her feet and looked to Reyna and Frank for confirmation.

Frank opened his mouth, but Reyna spoke before he could, “I think that would work out nicely, the team needs some female representation.”

Frank closed his mouth, but still looked like he wanted to object.

“Okay then,” Percy clapped his hands together and grinned, “meet us by the portal in five minutes Hazel, let's go beat the crap out of some monsters under the white flag of truce.”

Annabeth rolled her eyes, “that defeats the purpose of the white flag of truce Seaweed Brain."
