Sweetness

You are the smell of rose petals,
And the softness of red velvet sunrises,
You are the colour of my coffee which I cling to with all my being,
But like the sun do you shine so wondrously bright,
Like the light through the curtains beckoning me to arise,
Like a child prodding their sister for another piggy back ride,

You are sweetness,
In every possible way.
From how words tenderly leave your lips,
To how you grab your hips when your throwing a tantrum,
Always so sweet
A taste so unforgettable,
for my tongue is far from used to it.
It's foreign in my mouth,
Like a mystery left unsolved but somehow never forgotten,

You are sweetness,
A taste I've never known in all these years I've had to roam this cold and bitter world.
My taste is far from sweet,
But I've become so accustomed to the golden taste of your presence,
Like melodies dancing across my tongue,
Its potency surprising for someone so young.

You are sweetness,
When I am so bitter,
Like stardust on a rainy day do you sparkle and you sparkle alone,
For you are the only of your kind and how proud I am to say that as a sister you are mine.

You are sweetness
When the world has run out of sugar.

You are sweetness
In this bitter and cold mouth.

You are sweetness
