A popular belief is that a man's financial status is negligible as long as he's attractive and charming.

But let's be honest, will anyone really date a guy with no money? Of course not. No cash for dates, no money for gifts -- any girl out there will not even bat an eye on you. Hence, it is VERY important to have the financial capability to pursue and sustain a relationship.

A student will only have juice for lunch just to save up money to buy her a teddy bear, and a salary-man will start to bring a packed lunch at work to save some money for their upcoming date at the amusement park. You will cut corners, do some things that your peers thought that they aren't capable of doing, and temporarily disregard your wants for that longing need in your life. You will undergo some very harsh trials to pursue her, and you may need to give up on buying those new Air Jordans so that you can save up some cash when you ask her to eat some ramen. Basically, it is all about the mindset. Be sensible. Give up some wants in your life and reap the rewards.

Being money-wise also helps out a lot. That need for more money will never go away, so the perfect thing to do is to plan ahead, save up as much as possible, and start replacing that Mocaccino from Starbucks with a bottled water to save some spare change. Relationships are a big pocket-burner, it will consume everything in your wallet as if it were on fire. No matter how much a guy saves up, he will undoubtedly pull out his wallet in an instant if it is for her. So it will be important to be efficient in handling money so that you won't reach that point in time where in you have to sell your kidneys for some big cash.

A good way to go about this is to save up way ahead of time, before you even decide to pursue a relationship. Cut down on the money for computer games, lessen the need to go on an eating spree, and resist the urge to buy a new shirt every week. Being ahead of the game helps you out in the long run, because you get to manage a bigger amount of money over a longer period of time. Then you can just add your everyday allowance or your monthly salary to your budget. It's much easier to budget money when the starting amount is high.

I cannot stress this enough that money is a very big factor in a relationship. It stings a man's pride when the girl foots the bill, right? Yes, there should be equality over spending between the two of you, but as a man you want to show that you're very dependable, so make sure that you have the capability to back it up. Don't go into a relationship half-heartedly by thinking that a month's worth of money is enough for half a year. If you do that, you'll end up at a point in time that you'll have to give up your prized possessions. So bear in mind, money matters.
