Chapter 10 - Status: In a relationship

You popped the question and she said yes..

Why hello there, you lucky bastard. It seems that you've just nabbed yourself the love of your life. You don't have to take photos of yourself being forever alone and post bitter posts about couples, because you can now change that miserable relationship status of yours on Facebook from 'Single' to 'In a relationship'. Good for you, I'm so envious.

Kidding aside, congratulations. You finally got the sweet yes that you're hoping for and you can now call her mine. You can now officially take her to dates, treat her as only a partner can treat her, and reveal your innermost feelings towards her without the fear of regret and rejection. You can be proud of yourself for enduring all the hardships that you have faced to get to her, because they have paid off now. It must have been a hard journey, but you succeeded and you deserve a pat in the back for it. A job well done, my friend.

And now a new challenge arises. Your mission, should you accept it (you'll accept regardless), is to keep her yours - for the rest of your life - and to make sure that the love between the two of you never fades. It will take a lot of dedication and perseverance to prove that you are truly deserving of her trust and love. Prove to her that you're a man that she should be proud of. Show to other how worthy you are of this relationship because even though you might not be the perfect one, she still chose you to be her only one.

Although you are in a relationship with her, it doesn't mean that you already have the right to say, "Okay, since we're a couple, let's do intimate stuff." Remember: You have just started going out with her and things like that requires a deeper level of understanding between the two of you. Stuff like that aren't meant to be rushed. Don't perform fuckboy moves just because you're her boyfriend. Having the right to hug and kiss her will come at the right time, just don't rush things or you'll end up being a reject. Proceed with caution, comrade.

There are still guidelines and rules that you should follow when you're in a relationship. They are slightly different than the previous ones because it now involves retaining what is yours rather than chasing for someone that you like. The next steps may involve extra effort on your part, but as you have learned from your previous experience - that hard work pays off to those who work hard.
