Chapter 5 - Know the Family

If you happen to enter into a relationship with her with the consent of your and her family, then you may skip this part or just skim over this chapter. 

I'm certain that you have had a hell of a time making sure that her family approves of you and vice versa. You may be lucky if you and her family have close ties to each other, because you have been given a plethora of opportunities to make them like you. Her parents may even pair you with her way before the two of you learn how to use the toilet, which is a big boost for you because you have the support her family to back you up. It means that you have a good chance with her, more so if she is a family-oriented girl. You have had all the time in the world to get to know her, and the chances of rejection will be like a meteor dropping on you right now. You really are a lucky bastard.

And if she had allowed you to court her but you have to ask for her family's consent first, well... good luck. And take that good luck with you, because you'll need it. 

The Father

Imagine yourself as a dad of a very beautiful girl. Then a suitor comes in and asks permission if you'll allow him to have a relationship with your precious little girl. Most dad will take out their trusty shotgun and go 'rabbit season' onto the poor guy.  You don't want the girl that you nurtured from a baby into a fine young woman to be led to disarray by some unknown guy, right? 

That is what fathers think about. They really love their daughters and will do anything for them. You may experience great intimidation from her father, but you know full well that you shouldn't falter. Yes, you might get scared because you've only met him for the first time and because he's older than you, but will you tuck your tail between your legs and run?

The best way to handle your future father-in-law is to befriend him - after all, you're both men. Get onto his good side; get to know his likes. You'll be surprised to find out that he has the same like for wrestling as you do, or that you both like motorcycles. If you do get to her father's good side, you'll not only get the consent for your future wife, you'll also gain a lifelong companion in her father; a bond between men.

The Mother

And then comes her mother. She's the one who conceived the glowing sunshine of your life, nurturing her into the beautiful woman that she is today. And as a fellow woman, will you pass her standards?

We all know that most women have this so-called woman's intuition, and based on your appearance and movement on your first step inside the house, they will have a firm understanding of your entire being. 

I know, scary.

Make a good impression to you future mother-in-law. Make sure that you present yourself to her in the best way possible. It'll look like you're courting her mom as well, but succeed in this and you'll most likely succeed in winning her consent.

She will also reminisce at the time that she had let her husband face the same trial that you're facing today. It may warm her heart a little that a certain someone is brave enough to go through this trial, but it will now mean that she won't be meticulous at knowing everything about you, and determining if you're worthy of their trust of placing their girl's heart to you.

Nobody really knows who is kinder of the two. Worst case scenario, the are both mean at you. So be sure to be on your best behavior and win them over.

The sibling/s (optional)

If your dream girl is the eldest in the family, then you're off the hook with this one. But if she has a big sister, then prepare to court her as well. 

So that will be: 

Your girl + her mom + her sister + her other sister + her sisters that will gossip about you

Yep, you're screwed. Just joking. You must court all of the women in her household, and make sure that you are suitable in their eyes. They will all have that 'intuition', so make sure to do your best and try not to die.

And on the other side of the map:

Your girl + her father + her brother if she has any + her overprotective elder brother

This is a lot trickier. You have to make sure that the men in her household will try not to kill you at the slightest touch between you and your dream girl. If the house is dominated by men, then they will be overprotective of the girl of their household. So good luck finding any similarities between the men of the house. And try not to die.

Does it seem like a tall task? Of course it is. You're not only courting your dream girl, you're also courting her entire family. Win her family over and you'll have a great chance of putting that diamond ring into her finger in the near future.
