I left tactics class and headed for Headmaster's office. I got there at the same as Austin. We went in and sat down. Silence engulfed us we waited on the Headmaster to start talking.

"I trust that both of you received the packages containing your assignment"

The Headmaster pierced us with his iceberg blue eyes. He was quite a handsome man, standing 6 ft. 7 sporting dark smooth hair with a sculptured looking face,  a straight nose and a stubbled cheek.

He would make a dashing man if not for the permanent scowl etched on his face.

He continued talking, giving us no time to confirm his statement:

"As the instructions states,  there is a society in England trying to dismantle the wonderful job the government has been devoting their time and resources to for years.  You being the top trainees of your group are instructed to infiltrate this society, getting information about them in the process, reporting to us and wait for our instruments to take them down ".

I was in shock but I didn't let it show,  they taught us to hide our emotions. It was also forbidden to show our emotions in front of our instructors.  It merited serious punishments.

Austin blurted out: "What exactly do you mean by take them down?"
The glare given to him had me trying to go lower in my chair but I did not move.

"I mean boy,  that we will kill them all" snarled Headmaster Lion.

"That's ridiculous !!!!" sputtered a shocked Austin.  I was expecting him to be thrown in the isolation chamber.  No one spoke to the headmaster this way.

"Be quiet boy and don't forget your duty to your country!!" roared the headmaster,  "Do not prompt me to throw you into the aquarium tank until u remember your place", the Headmaster further added.

I sat through the meeting and said nothing.  It was appalling what lengths the government would go to for their plans to be a success, but our assignments came before our lives. I left the office and went back to my dorm room.

Chloe was sitting there looking at me in concern.  It seemed news had spread about the assignment Austin and I was given to be done in three weeks.

She looked as though she wanted to say something. I didn't give her a chance to.  I walked straight to my room without a second glance in her direction, closed my room door and fell asleep on the bed, dreading the next day.
