"Stuck"

Caitlin’s POV

“Caitlin! Watch out!” A familiar voice shouted up to me. As the ball got closer I started freaking out.

“Bump down! Bump do-“I was shaking my arms and suddenly I realized I was falling to the ground.

Head first.

I closed my eyes tightly and was now just waiting for the impact.

But, then I felt two muscular arms grip me tightly, and catching me bridal style.

I opened my eyes and saw someone looking at me very worried.

“Caitlin, are you okay?” Austin asked. I couldn’t tell if he really cared or not.

I was angry. He was holding me in his arms in front of both our teams. It was a little embarrassing to me. He was probably enjoying it. People even took out their phones to take pictures.

“Next time try to catch the ball.” I said looking at him trying to get out of his grip.

He put me down to the ground and said, “Looks like I’m already sweeping you off your feet. I was just saving your life. Don’t I deserve a thank you?”

I stepped closer to him. He smelt and was sweaty. He had been practicing hard.

“What you deserve is-“I was cut off before I could finish my comeback.

“BOYS! LET”S GO!” The coach yelled. All the boys turned around and started walking toward the other side of the field, where they were before.

I jumped a little when the coach said that. Austin just started chuckling.

“You’re welcome babe.” He said turning around, walking off and chuckling a little more.

I’m not going to let him call me that in front of my team. They look up to me.

I started walk toward him and grabbed his arm twisting him around. I never knew I was that strong. I was angry so it was probably my anger controlling me.

He looked at me surprised. Before I said anything he talked first.

“You just can’t get enough of me can you?” He asked.

“Don’t you dare call me babe again.” I said and turned around with my head high to see all of my team staring at me.

Then he just walked away giving up.

We carried on with our practice until it was getting dark. The boys and my team went into the locker rooms and got changed. I took my time. I have to wait until everyone leaves until I can.

Everyone was gone except for Rachel she was my ride. All the boys were gone too. There was no noise in the gym and locker rooms at all completely silent.

“Ready to go?” Rachel asked picking up her bag.

“Ya…Wait. Oh crap!” I said.

“What?”

“I left my Math book in Mrs. Haynes room. I’m going to go get it. You can just go I’ll walk home when I’m done.”

Austin and I were unfortunately studying tomorrow morning.

“Walk home in the dark? Okay Caitlin. Whatever. I’ll see you this weekend. You should sleep over since we have a long weekend.”

It was Martin Luther King Day on Monday so we had the day off.

“Okay. I’ll text you. Bye!” I said, while walking to the Math room.

I made my way up the stairs into the hall where the room was.

Room 154.

The door was already open.

That’s weird. All the doors should be closed and locked.

I just shook it off and walked in.

I closed the door behind me, so it wouldn’t be suspicious looking.

Students weren’t allowed to come to school after hours. And here I am sneaking into the Math class.

I made my way to my desk and under the seat was my book.

I had this class last today so no one took it, luckily.

I picked it up and walked to the door.

I twisted the door knob.

It wouldn’t open.

It’s locked.

I franticly started shaking the doorknob and tried to open it, but it was no use. Being the idiot I am sometimes, I didn’t even think about w it when I closed the door. It should have been locked. Now someone can only open it from the outside and no one would be in the school until Monday.

I was stuck in here. No windows, which is weird, so I couldn’t escape.

I was stuck here. All weekend, and it’s a long weekend.

I just remembered that I had a party tomorrow too. After Austin and I study.

Ugh. Great. Just great.

I was really excited for this party. It was the first party I was going to go to since the last one at Cam’s house when I was taken. I finally built up enough courage to go, with the help of Rachel and everyone else nagging me to go. I just gave in.

I put my book into my bag and remember that I had my phone.

Sh*t. It’s dead. Figures huh?

I just leaned against the door thinking what I could do. Nothing. I was stuck.

I then heard a noise. It sounded like someone shuffling their feet.

“Hello? Who’s there?” I asked, stepping closer to the center of the room. I took my Math book out of my bag ready to hit someone with it. I then realized I wasn’t the only one in the room.

The closet door opened and someone stepped out.

I couldn’t see their face. I didn’t turn the lights on so it was dark. Like I said no windows, so no light.

I figure was then getting closer to me. I took the book and hit them on the head with my book. I didn’t do it that hard, but hard enough to hurt them.

They took the book out of my hands and through it across the room. This person was now scaring me. It reminded me of the old Austin. Yes, I’m finally realizing he changed.

I backed away and the figure just kept getting closer to me. Tears were filling in my eyes and a few fell down my cheeks. I was very scared. Come on Caitlin! Suck it up! You are stronger than you think!

My thoughts of encouragement were interrupted. My back hit the door. And the figure was now inches away from my face.

He put both arms on each side of my head and his face was very close to mine.

I lifted up my leg and kicked him right between his legs.

He grabbed the area I kicked him and fell onto his knees.

He was groaning in pain. Oopsies. Maybe I hit him too hard. I was just protecting myself.

I then switched on the light because the switch was right next to me. And the room was now illuminated with light, so I could see who was in the room with me.

My eyes widened as I saw the person groaning on his knees in front of me.
