"Through Hell And Back"

Caitlin’s POV

 “What do you want Kyle?”

“Calm down alright. I’m sorry.”

“You’re what?” I asked seeing that he was seriously sorry.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry about everything. Can we start over and be friends?” He asked looking into my eyes.

What was up? I have never heard Kyle say sorry before. This is the same douche bag that wanted nothing but sex from me and now he wants to be friends? I’m confused, but then again why not? Why not give him a chance he seems to really be sorry.

“Ya sure buddy.” I said playfully elbowing him. He just laughed a little.

“So…Um…I-“He tried to say something, but was interrupted.

“Oh hi Caitlin!” Austin said coming up from behind me with his backpack over his shoulder.

“Uh hi.” I said knowing that this must be awkward for the both of them because they really despise each other.

“Kyle what were you saying?” I asked him turning all my attention to him.

Then Austin put his arm around my shoulder. I gave him a weird look and he just flashed his perfect white teeth at me. I took his hand and took his arm off my shoulder.

“Are you to still dating?” Kyle asked.

“No we never dated and we never will.” I answered quickly.

“Well.” Austin snapped.

“What do you even want Austin?” I asked.

“I saw you talking to him and I know what happened between you too, so I just wanted to see if everything was okay. And you know don’t like him.” Austin said looking at Kyle.

“Austin, its fine. We are friends.”

“Friends? With this.” He said pointing at Kyle.

Why was he being so rude to Kyle?

“Sorry Kyle.” I said facing him ignoring Austin.

“It’s fine. I was wondering if you wanted to go out tomorrow night. If you don’t I under-“

“She doesn’t.” Austin said. Why was he being so…jealous?

“It’s okay. I knew you weren’t going to say-“

“No, that would be fun.” I said and both boys gave me a shocked look. Then Austin looked angry while Kyle looked excited.

“Awesome! I’ll pick you up at 8 tomorrow night.” He said walking away leaving me with Austin.

“What the hell was that all about?”

“Caitlin, he is not the person you think he is.”

“I’m just going to give him a chance okay? He IS different.” I said emphasizing the ‘is’ in the sentence.

“How do you know?”

“Because I’ve been texting him.” I said.

He stayed quiet and then I started to walk away, but he grabbed my arm and turned me around.

“Has…you know who… called you?” He asked quietly.

“No. I think he is done bothering me. Why are you always asking?”

“Tell me if he does okay?” He asked without answering my question.

“I will.”

“Promise?” He asked.
