"New Interest"

Caitlin’s POV

I walked into Starbucks and ordered my drink. After the lady handed me my drink I sat down and took out my phone. I went on twitter again. I should really stop.

I decided this time I wouldn’t look at my feed. I guess I’ll just look at Austin’s profile and see if he tweeted anything. He did tweet.

@AustinMahone: Goodmorning everyone! Heading to an interview today.

I wonder what they will talk about at the interview. Mmm…Maybe it’s about all the pictures all over social media of Austin and me.

I sipped on my drink and two girls approached me. I smiled at them and they sat down.

“Uh hi. What’s up?” I asked the two strangers. The both of them looked about 16. Just 3 years younger than me. The girls were wearing bikinis with shorts and a little cover-up on. One was blonde and the other was brunette. They looked like normal Miami girls.

“You’re dating Austin right?” The blonde asked in a bitter tone.

“No we aren’t dating. Not at all.” I answered.

“Then why were you making out with him?” The brunette asked. Both of the girls had this disgusted look on their face. They were the typical high school mean girls, from the looks of it.

“We weren’t making out, now leave me alone.” I said getting angry.

“So why do you like him? Because he is famous? You’re just going to hurt him.” She snapped.

“I knew him before he was famous, thank you very much. Now if you don’t mind, leave me alone.” I was getting angrier.

“Just back the f*ck off. He’s ours.” The blonde said getting closer to my face. Did they really think they had a chance with him? Ha. Ha. Ha.

“Excuse me?” I asked.

“You heard me bitch.” She said again.

“Hey! Leave her alone. What’s wrong with you?” This random guy came up to me and save me. He lightly grabbed my arm and pulled me up. “Let’s go.” He said leading me to the door.

He walked me outside.

“Thank you.” I stopped.

“No problem. You looked like you were in trouble.” I just laughed a little and so did he.

“I’m Nick.”

“Caitlin. Nice to meet you.”

Nick. Nick was cute. He was wearing a t-shirt, jean shorts, and sneakers. Jordan’s of course. He had a nice smile with straight teeth. His eyes were brown and his long brown eyelashes really made them pop. His eyelashes matched his hair. He had hair gel in his hair, so it was pushed back in a wave style. At least that’s what they called it, ‘the wave’. And my favorite feature about him was his freckles. He had a few faded, but noticeable, freckles that rested along his nose and under his eyes. He was definitely good looking.

“Do you want to um-maybe do something later? If you don’t I underst-“

“Ya, I’d like that.” I stopped him. I was just glad he didn’t ask about what the girls were talking about.

“What? Really?” He asked surprised.

“Yes. Want to go to lunch or something?” I asked and his eyes lit up. This was good. Something to get my mind off of Austin.
