The taxi parked in front of the big door., Kurt looked outside the window, hesitating for a moment before paying the cab driver and finally put his feet on the ground. His new life was about to begin.
Lima was far away, left in the past with all the suffering, the bullying and the loneliness he had been through in those 18 years, years that left many scars, not only on his body.
But there weren't only bad memories, he had his father, Carole, Finn and the other glee kids. He just wished there were someone else.
The idea of a shining future ahead was so exciting and yet so scaring he had had a month of sleepless nights and lots of cups of coffee.Burt was so worried that he thought someone was still harassing his son.
Everyone tried to pull that guy down, but he knew, deep in his mind, that he would rise above and his dreams would eventually come true. And there he was, NYADA was just a step further, but that step could change his life forever.
He took his luggage and all his courage and entered the building.
"Welcome to NYADA, New York Academy of Dramatic Arts, mr. May I help you?" a lady in a tailleur sitting behind a desk asked.
"I'm Kurt Hummel, freshman year" He said, he still couldn't believe all of this was happening.
The smile slowly faded from the woman's face. The spare wrinkles on her face accentuating.
"Come with me" she said "I'll show your way around" the lady stood up, revealing her very short height . She took a bunch of keys from behind her desk and started walking rapidly as Kurt tried to follow her.
The building was full of pictures of celebrities that attended the Academy in the past, the few students that arrived early sat on nice sofas and armchair chatting with each other or drinking coffee.
That place was enormous, Kurt had never seen something that big and cozy, it was exactly as he imagined it, a dream coming true.
"The courses will start in a week" the lady's voice brought him back to life " You can explore the place by yourself, I'll just show you your accommodation."
The woman took one of the two lifts and pressed the third floor button.
"Here we are" she said in front of a wooden door "Number 206. Dinner is at 8 o'clock. Be on time. Your roommate will arrive soon. Enjoy your stay as long as you can."
'What does she mean?' Kurt wondered 'does she mean I can't make it or that it's very hard to make it?" that idea haunted Kurt's thought all afternoon as he placed his things in his side of the room. The other recurring thought was his roommate. Would he be cool or just another selfish diva? Would they get along? Maybe he was gay and he would finally find his soulmate.
'Oh, shut up' Kurt said to himself 'Love isn't your priority right now. You just have to make it through'
He sat on the bed, he was too tired to think anymore or to go for a tour, and finally, after months, he fell asleep.
He woke up when the guide's voice reached his room. The door opened and the silhouette of his roommate entered the room carrying a big suitcase.
