Two determined knocks woke them the next morning. For a moment Dan had almost forgot what had happened; the sun was breaking dimly through the curtains, illuminating only a part of their room, like every other day. It used to be his favourite time of the day. When everything was silent and clear, where no noises other than the chirping of the birds, his mind was, just for that brief moment, peaceful.

It all seemed too surreal to be true.

"Good morning" Blaine's voice announced after Kurt opened the door. The chestnut haired guy was standing in front of him: his eyes still partially closed, his hair ruffled, his lips stretched in what seemed a sleepy smile.

Blaine couldn't say why he and Dan were together, right then no reason seemed an appropriate one. But he couldn't leave him, he knew...he assumed...it would break his heart and he was his boyfriend afterall, they were supposed to take care of each other. He cared about Dan as much as he cared about him. They were waiting, both of them, waiting for something to happen, for love to come, both enjoying their indifferent status. And if that relationship didn't seem to have disadvantages to others, it was damaged.

None of them had the courage to unmask what they were feeling and, though it prevented them from fights and disagreements, they both knew it wouldn't last much longer. It was not enough. And the worst part, they both realised, was that they didn't care.

"I guess I'll leave you two alone" Kurt stated, moving forward to the bathroom "Just give me ten minutes" every step was heavier than the other.

Kurt moved something inside Blaine, something he wasn't able to describe, he seemed a ray of sunshine in the darkness even if he seemed to avoid his company. The way he would bite his lip preoccupied, or the way he would fix his hair by waving a hand through it, even the way his eyes, his wonderous, mysterious eyes, looked at Dan in such an adoring way, that gaze he wanted to be laid upon himself, everything was perfect about him. And he probably didn't even realize.

Kurt keft without muttering a word.

"How is he?" Blaine asked, carelessly exploring the room and touching every piece of furniture he encountered.

Dan observed him from the edge of the bed, measuring his words about his roommate. He didn't hate him for what he did, he knew the blame was to share, but he wasn't ready to forgive him yet.

"Lube, huh?" Blaine's eyes met Dan's, suspicious.

Crap. He thought he got rid of it.

"Uhm...you know...Kurt...has a very interesting sex life" Dan's cheeks were now bright pink. He felt a little relieved blaming Kurt for it, even if that didn't make him feel better. He wasn't ready to call it off with Blaine.

"Well I don't mean he's a manwhore, but...well...he likes experimenting. I think he hasn't find the right one yet."

"So he isn't taken...uh?" It wasn't really pleasant for Blaine knowing Kurt had several sexual partners.

"No, he's used...um...the lube..with two or three guys. Haven't seen them more than once or twice" This lie was going too far. Kurt might have done a terrible thing but this kind of revenge was not making it easier.

"I was thinking..." Blaine got closer to Dan, starting to massage his back, sensually "Maybe we could borrow it" He placed a kiss on his boyfriend's sensitive neck, slowly reaching the edge of his shirt and taking it off.

Maybe it was the lack of intimacy they had that was weakening their relationship.
