Amber gently peeled off the newspaper. Classy Dylan. Just classy. Well, she must admit, it was original. After the wrap was neatly removed, she flipped over the book to the front. It was the same exact book she dropped. The glossy cover glistened slightly in the dull glow of the room.

My Dream City was the title, embossed onto the paper cover and the skyline of chaotic night life was hazy in the background. She flipped open the cover, the faint scent of "new book" catching her nose for a second. That bloody.... sweet boy. He wrote her a note inside the cover, just like her father did for her mother.

So, um Princess, sorry I never caught your name, like I also never caught your original book. Yeah, sorry about that too. Well, I did catch you and I think that that was a much better deal. Wow, I sound creepy. Let's start again.... This is my apology for not making the best first impressions. I'm never good with people and I hope that you could forgive me for that. I remembered the book that fell because I read it too a long time ago. It was a bit cheesy but I suppose it floats your boat fine. Anyway, I plan on making New York your dream city, if you'll let me. After you read this, I hope you don't think I'm a total creep and let me show you the best of the Big Apple. Also, I might spill one or two of those book secrets.

                                                                 Dylan

That black scrawl stared right back up at her, making a choice for her. She will be seeing him tomorrow.

The blurry vision suddenly cleared to the beautiful face of her darling sister Anna. Already her hair was perfect, and it was only 8 in the morning. Wait, did last night really happen? Anna had an enormous smirk on her face.

"Something you want to share with me little sister? Any... I don't know... bloody cute sweet guys?"

"Maybe like one." Amber replied, seeing the paperback in Anna's perfectly manicured hands. Anna seemed absolutely gobsmacked.

"Well then, tell me everything!!!" Anna demanded, quite forcefully that Amber had to lean slightly back in the grand bed.

"...I mean, I was slightly miffed at the book because it was Pap's, well, Mom's. It was like he wanted to wind me up! But he really turned out to be I suppose, cute? He bought me that book and even wrote in it like Pap did to Mom. Is that too weird?" Amber explained the story, voicing some of her own doubts.

Anna squealed in excitement and Amber wondered if she really was the older sister.

"You are going to him today!" Anna exclaimed, as she plopped onto the plush sheets trying but failing to fix Amber's bed head.

"Yeah, I don't know if it's a good...." Amber tried to protest but her heart was telling her to run up to that rooftop.

"Well... what time is it?" She glanced over at the classy clock mounted onto the wall opposite her. 8:17.

"I have to get ready!" Amber flew out of bed and into the bathroom, Anna smirking after her.

"Mom's out again?" Amber guessed while splashing water on her face. Anna nodded.

"She doesn't even give a second for her darling daughters."Anna mimicked the fake sweetness of their mother's tone. Amber shook her head. They both thought they would've gotten used to the disinterest already. They were wrong. The emptiness still lingered.

"Right Pap, a mother figure." Amber muttered, sarcasm evident, and hopped around getting ready.

Shrugging on the brown cardigan over her tank top and pulling on her combat boots over the navy skinny jeans, Amber grabbed an apple from a glass bowl positioned on the center of the marble bar in the kitchen. She had successfully plaited her hair in a messy side braid , letting a few strands fall over her left cheek.

A slight breeze greeted her as she stepped out onto the balcony, carrying the faint scent of flowers.

"Princess." his voice said as she climbed up the metal rungs and a gentle hand helped her up the last few.

"Did you like it?" He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, unsure of her response. She smiled warmly at him and he smiled too.

"I loved it." They stood there for a moment more, not knowing what to say.

"Your name!" he exclaimed, making Amber jump. Then she began laughing.

"I'll leave that for later." she replied playfully. He pouted at the challenge but them regained a smile, accepting the terms of the game.

"Every time I take your breath away with my tour, you have to give me some sort of hint." he offered. She smiled, liking every second of this vacation more and more.

"Deal."

"Well, what do you have planned today Mr. Tourguide?"  Amber teased. Dylan reached out for her hand. She move back, slightly uncomfortable at the sudden move.

"Relax Princess. Trust me." He brought her to the very ledge she almost died off of only a day earlier. What was he doing? Dylan chuckled softly and Amber realized she said that last part out loud.

"I'm showing you the other side of New York."

With that he gripped her hand harder and jumped.

So darling readers! Playfully flirting seems Amber's route to go.... Haha, Dylan is definitely getting himself into an interesting game. I really think that David Archuleta's song Crush describes their relationship now! They are adorable. I know I am so 2008 here!
