CHAPTER TWO:
We pulled into the driveway of our new house. It was small but big enough for our now smaller family. I wanted to get out of the truck quickly and unpack. But I realized Connor was sleeping and I didn't want to crawl over him and wake him up. He could be so annoying at times but I try to get closer to him since he doesn't have his mom. I look at my phone, it's only 8:00pm. I reach over him and pop the trunk open. I gracefully lift my legs over him and quickly snap my upper body up. I wobble, but Connor doesn't wake up.
I slide out of the truck and slowly pick up Connor. Sheesh, he is a lot heavier than I remember. I walk inside with him in my arms and place him on our couch that must've already been delivered.
I look around the house. It's small but homy and I think I could get used to it. The kitchen is updated with black counter tops and dark brown cabinets. It's open to a comfy sitting room with a brick fire place.
Off the sitting room is a small powder room. The kitchen has a dining room off to the side. There are stairs next to the front door that I assume lead up to the bedrooms. I look over at Connor who is snuggled up on the couch.
I went back outside to help my dad unpack the car.
I think I could get used to this. It may take some time, but I'm slowing moving on.
By the time my dad and I had finished unpacking the boxes from the car, it was almost nine o'clock andConnor was now awake. I was texting a couple of my friends from back home.

My best friend, Paige, was the hardest to say good bye to and I'll miss her the most. I was startled out of my thoughts by my dad.
"You going to bed soon, Aves?" I looked at the digital clock that I had already set up on the night stand next to my bed. I had been so busy texting my friends and arranging my new room that I lost track if time. It was almost one a.m.
"Um yeah, Dad."
"Alright. I'm going to hit the hay! Good night baby girl," he said softly as he came over and kissed me on the cheek. "I love you."
I could see the dark circles under his eyes and his eyes were shiny. I felt an ache in my chest.
"I love you too, dad."
He smiled and closed my bedroom door as he left.
I undressed and slipped on some comfy pajamas. I brushed my teeth and slid into bed. My room was still a little empty and needed a new coat of paint, but I could definitely make it mine. I quickly drifted deep into sleep.
I woke up the next morning before anyone else in my house was awake. My room was kinda cold. I snuggled up to try to fall asleep again but I couldn't. I tossed and turned but couldn't get back to sleep. I decided to just get up and start my day.
I slipped on some fuzzy socks and headed to the kitchen.
I stepped over the boxes the were cluttered and piled all over the upstairs hallway.
When I got to the kitchen, I opened the fridge. But there was only two things in it: ketchup and butter.
Wow why the heck does my dad bring only butter and ketchup when we move?
I went through some of the boxes that were cluttered around the main floor until I found some cereal. I poured myself a bowl of Special K and then I realized we had no milk.
I went back upstairs and grabbed a few dollars and put on a pink v-neck short sleeves shirt. I slipped on a pair of jean shorts and flip flops. I threw y hair into a ponytail without brushing it and left a note to my dad telling him where I was. At first I was going to drive but then I decided to ride my bike since I found it out on the small front porch.
I figured it would give me something to do and let me have some time to think.
I rode out of the neighborhood and took the direction that I remember seeing the store when we drove here. It was really got even though it was only June. When I got into the small town, there was many people hurrying around and running errands.
I realized that it was probably dangerous for me to be riding my bike on the crowded sidewalks so I got off and walked with it beside me.
By the time I got to the grocery store, I was hot and perspiration was forming on my forehead.
I locked my bike up and went inside.
I was immediately greeted by the cool blast if the air conditioning. I grabbed the milk and headed to the checkout. At one of the registers, a guy about my age was texting and there was no line. I walked up and took out my money.
"Closed," the guy said without looking up.
I blushed, "oh sorry." The guy looked up.
"Oh, um, here ill just take that and yeah." He said, looking up, but quickly looking down again.
"Thanks." I smiled.
He rang me up and handed me my change. "Here's your pretty," his eyes went wide. He cleared his throat. "I mean... Um... Your change."
"Thanks... for both, you are too. I mean not pretty but handsome because I mean you use pretty to describe girls right? And your not a girl i mean your obviously a guy...Haha...yeah... Ill shut up now." I looked away, feeling stupid.
"Thanks," he smiled and slipped his hands into the pockets on his shorts. "I hope ill see you around." He handed me my bag.
"Me too," I smiled and headed home.
The guy was cute, and I realized I never did get his name. He had really pretty eyes and perfect hair. I blushed when I realized what I was thinking. I didn't even know the guy, the conversation was just a friendly one...right? He probably does that to get more business...right?
I shook my head, why was I thinking about this? He probably has forgotten about me by now anyways.
A/N: thanks for reading! Ill update soon!!!!! Please vote and comment if you have any questions or ideas of what I should include! Do u think I should make something between the grocery store boy and Ava?
