We brought him to the school clinic. Thankfully, the school nurse effectively gave him first aid and said it wasn't that serious, his skull didn't crack or anything but she advised us to take him for a proper test at a hospital to make sure. Soon we transferred him to a hospital and got him checked out. The doctors did tests on him and told us to wait for the results the next day.

"You definitely hit a home run, Vee." Jimin tried to liven up the mood but it wasn't a tad funny so all he got were glares from others while I, on the other hand, was already sweating buckets as we waited for Jungkook to wake up.

"Idiot, this isn't a laughing matter." Yoongi spoke, making Jimin feel guilty.

"I tried calling his relatives but none of them are picking up." Jin said, giving his phone a rest since he's been trying to reach Jungkook's aunt for hours but there was no chance of them calling back.

"I'm not even surprised." Namjoon sighed deeply, "They don't care about him at all, do they?"

"What do you mean?" I couldn't help but ask. They all looked at me with frowns on their faces.

"Jungkook's parents died when he was young so he's now under the care of his aunt but they don't give two shits about him. They just spend his parents wealth." Hoseok explained and I was speechless afterwards.

I watched Jungkook's serene face and wondered how much cruelty he faced even at a young age. I never knew that there was so much sadness behind his anger. I never even thought about it twice when I cursed him out so many times in my mind.

"You guys must be tired. Go home. I'll watch Jungkook." I suggested and got no objection. It was getting late anyway and they all needed to go home.

"How about you? Who'll take you home?" Hoseok asked as the others began leaving.

"I'll call Syd. Don't worry. I'll be fine." I gave him a smile before shooing him out.

It's been an hour since they left but Jungkook still hasn't moved a muscle. He laid there completely unconscious that sometimes I were tempted to check his pulse and breathing to see if he was still alive. I stayed in the same position, watching Jungkook until Syd arrived.

"Vee, what's wrong?" Syd asked as soon as she came in. She gasped when she saw Jungkook. "What the hell happened?"

"I accidentally hit him with a bat." I confessed, "He told me that I wasn't serious about playing baseball and called my mind set half-assed. I felt all kinds of emotions that time. I started thinking about my dad and my mom and all that's happened to me. I didn't know what happened next. I just got so mad." I explained without skipping a breath, "But I swear I didn't do it on purpose. He was behind me so I didn't see him standing so close."

Syd pulled me in a hug to try and calm me down, "It's okay. I believe you."

Syd and I fell asleep together on the couch. It was the next day that Jungkook finally woke up. I was a light sleeper so I was easily woken up by some noise in the room. Jungkook was sitting up on the bed, looking confused and disoriented. I stood up and left Syd on the couch, making my way to the bed.

"Are you okay now? Does it still hurt?" I started, hesitant at first, thinking that he'd not want to see me after what I did. "I'm really sorry."

"You better be cause you hit me pretty hard." Jungkook said, he avoided looking at me.

"Are you mad at me?" I looked up at his face, he seemed to be fine, "I'm sincerely sorry. If you want me to quit then I will."
