"Damn.." I mumbled. Looks like the fish aren't biting today. I sat down on the mushy ground and drank some of my water. My stomach growled in the process. I haven't ate anything since yesterday afternoon. But hey when the world goes to shit, you get used to hunger. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a twig snap from behind. I pulled out my gun and pointed at the direction where the sound was heard. Hiding behind a tree was a women. "Come out. I see you." I called out to the women. Slowly, the women came out from behind the tree. Once she saw I had my gun out, she put her hands in the air in defence. This woman had her dark brown hair pulled in a ponytail and has a bit of a heavy set in her. "Who are you?" I asked the women as I lowered my gun. "T-Tara." She stuttered. "And you?" She asked me. "Ashley." I greeted her. I slipped my gun into my brown hollister. Tara put her hands down. "You have a camp?" I asked her as I put my short black hair behind my ear. "Y-Yeah. Well sort of. More like a bus." Tara explained to me. "But you have other people?" I asked her. "Yeah. Want to come along?" Tara asked. "Sure." I told her. I quickly grabbed my small backpack, slipped it over my shoulders, and followed Tara through a path. It was silent during the walk. "Have you been with the group before?" Tara asked me, trying to break the silence. At first I didn't answer. "Yes. Yes I was. Sadly they got eaten by the walkers." I told Tara. "I'm sorry." Tara said. "It's fine. Never got along with them anyways." I added. Tara didn't say anything after that. We had then came up on an open road, a few feet away from a bus. "Is that it?" I asked Tara. "Yes." Tara told me. "Hey!" Tara called out. Suddenly a group of people came into view in front of the bus. Once we reached there, it came to a total of 4 people. "Hey Tara. Who's this?" A redheaded tall and buff guy asked Tara. "Oh this is Ashley. Found her when I was scouting." Tara explained to everyone. "Well I am Abraham." The redheaded guy greeted me as he stuck his hand out to me. I shook it and said:"Nice to meet you too." "I'm Rosita." A lady with light brown hair in pigtails came up to me with her hand stuck out to my face. "Nice to meet you." I told her and shook her hand. A Korean man and pretty women then came up to me. "I'm Glenn." The korean man greeted me, "And this is my wife Maggie." Maggie waved at me. "Nice to meet you both." I told them while shaking their hands. As everyone was catching up, I noticed a man standing out than the others. Had he stood there the whole time and not noticed? He was a bit big, which immediately reminded me of a teddy bear, and he had a bit of a worried look on his face. What makes him more noticeable than the others is that he has a black hair colored mullet. I walked up to him. "Hey there." I greeted him. Now that I got a better look on him, this man was actually pretty cute. "Hello there." The man greeted me. "I'm Ashley, in case you haven't heard." I greeted him. "I-I'm Eugene." The man greeted me. He looked and saw my hand. Eugene then shook my hand slowly. "Where have you and your people been heading to?" I asked Eugene. "Uh W-Washington." Eugene told me. "Yeah, Eugene here is a scientist and he knows how to stop this whole thing." Abraham explained to me. I glared at Eugene in shock. "S-Seriously?" I stuttered. "Yes." Eugene said to me. I looked in the ditch and found something shining. I walked over to it. A shard of iron. "What's that?" Glenn asked me. "A shard of iron. Twenty more of these and that could make iron which plugs with wires and hydro gas could make a gas tank with battery power." I explained to everyone. Everyone looked at me as if I was explaining rocket science. "She's right." Eugene said. So he is a smart ass as well, and not in the bitchy way. "So how many more miles until we arrive at Washington?" I asked the gang. "About 65 miles down this road." Rosita informed me. "If we stay at 45 miles per hour, then we should arrive in two hours, two minutes, and thirty two seconds." I informed everyone. "Again I don't know how the hell you figured that out, but Eugene you got yourself a colleague." Abraham joked with Eugene. I smiled at Eugene. Eugene looked like he didn't get the joke. "It's a joke, Eugene. They are just saying how I am 'smart' as you are." I explained to him. Eugene just nodded along. "Alright! Let's hit the road!" Abraham called out.
