Ginny was happily tucking into her bacon and eggs that her mum had cooked for her breakfast. Her mum was the best cook she had ever known, everybody who tried her food said so. Ginny always enjoyed her mum’s cooking. She was just about to take a mouth full of egg when a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind.
“Morning Harry.” She said, grinning.
“Morning.” He replied and kissed her on the cheek. Mrs Weasley, who had heard Harry talking with Ginny came in and started piling a plate with eggs and bacon and took it over to Harry, who had just taken a seat next to Ginny.
“Here you are Harry dear.” She said, placing the plate in front of him.
“Thank you Mrs Weasley.” Harry said.
“Mum. Have you got any parchment anywhere? We wanted to write to Bill, Charlie and Percy.”
“Yes dear. Hold on. Accio parchment!” And then several pieces of parchment came flying towards them and stopped just in front of Ginny. “There you are dear. And here’s some ink and a quill.” Mrs Weasley said, passing Ginny a bottle of ink and a quill.
“Mrs Weasley?”
“Yes Harry?”
“Could we invite them round for dinner tomorrow?”
“Oh that’s a wonderful idea! It’s been such a long time since we had a family meal. Oh and of course Fleur will be here - I have to tidy!” Harry and Ginny laughed as they watched Mrs Weasley hurry off upstairs to get her cleaning things.“What’s up with her?” Ron asked sleepily as he walked into the kitchen, hand in hand with Hermione.
“We’re inviting Bill, Fleur, Charlie and Percy over for tea tomorrow night. She said that it’s a wonderful idea and then she went off to start cleaning.” Ginny said smiling.
“Do we have to invite Percy?”
“Ronald!” Hermione scolded.
“I was only joking ‘Mione.”
“Good.”
“He’s still a stuck-up-”
“And he’s still your brother!” Hermione cut in and when she wasn’t looking Ron rolled his eyes.
When Harry had finished writing out the letters he gave one to pigwidgeon, one to Errol and one to Bill and Fleur’s owl - who was fortunately visiting.
“Are you guy’s ready to go to Diagon Alley now?” Hermione asked. Ron, Harry and Ginny nodded.
“Bye, dears!” Mrs Weasley called.
“Bye” They all said and walked out of the Burrow. When they were over the apparation wards of the Burrow they all linked hands and apparated to Diagon Alley. With a loud crack Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione arrived in Diagon Alley, right outside Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. As always, it was the busiest shop there. Everyone, except perhaps maybe Percy, enjoyed a good joke and Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes was the best joke shop in England, perhaps anywhere. It was the best in the eyes of Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys anyway. When they stepped in side they were hit by a tidal wave of noise, half the occupants of Diagon Alley appeared to be in there. Obviously business was extremely good.
“Ron! Ginny! Harry! Hermione!” They all looked up to see George stood on the next level overlooking the chaos in his shop. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” He called, while walking down the steps toward them. When he had reached them, Ginny replied
“We need to tell you about something.” She said seriously. “And invite you for dinner tomorrow!” She added grinning.
“Why don’t you come on up-stairs into the apartment.” And he turned to go back up the stairs again and beckoned for them to follow him.As Harry walked through the shop, he noticed that people still stared, still gaped at his forehead as he pasted. He hated it, why couldn’t people just get over the fact that he defeated Voldemort? He just wanted to live a normal life, but no, people still had to stare like he was some superstar. Ginny noticed all the attention Harry was getting and she could tell how it was making him uneasy and started hissing at people not to stare, which Harry was very grateful for. But what got Ginny the most was that when they had reached the second floor just underneath where George lived, two girls Harry’s age came up to Harry.
“Hi Harry!” One of the girls giggled, fluttering her eyelashes and trying to flirt with him. The other stood there, turning pink and staring at Harry like he was the best thing she’d ever seen. Harry felt rather awkward at the attention and started to go pink but out of the corner of his eye his saw Ginny positively shooting daggers at the two girls. If looks could kill, Harry thought, then those two girls would be stone cold dead on the floor.
“Are these girls bothering you Harry?” Ginny said, slipping her hand into his.
“What does it matter to y-” The first girl started asking, but stopped abruptly when she saw their linked hands. “oh. Er…”
“C’mon you two, we haven’t got all day.” Said George, beaming at the scene that was taking place in front of him. Harry and Ginny turned and left to go to Georges apartment, leaving the two girls standing there, gaping at Harry and Ginny.
