[Just now am realizing that the TAB button on my laptop doesn't work for Wattpad. For some reason this makes me uncomfortable XD]

Okay so I was up in the attic the other day, searching for some duct tape for my jeans (long story I'll discuss later ~), and I stumbled upon this large canvas. Precisely 24x36 inches large. My mom had said that I bought the canvas last year, so it was mine to do whatever I wanted with.

I knew I wanted to do something big with this canvas. There was so much potential woven into the fabric, I wanted to paint a picture that would do it justice!

So I thought. And I thought. And I thought and thought and thought. I pondered and meditated over what my soul was trying to tell me. What, deep down, do I sincerely want to paint?

My initial thought was a landscape portrait. I doodle a lot of those in the textbooks, so it would be pretty easy. But that was too simple. I wanted to paint something I had never painted before -- something that would challenge my creativity and artistic talent.

Then it hit me that I could paint a setting from my novel. I've been seriously working on my novel for about a year and a half now, and am incredibly passionate about it. The settings that are featured in it are elaborate and timeless, and would translate beautifully onto canvas.

At first I wanted to paint the mansion from my novel. The mansion is such an important part of the plot, but it wouldn't be very fun to paint. Plus, it didn't showcase my story well enough.

Eventually, I conjured up the idea to paint the setting that I first wrote about a year and a half ago. An immense clock tower, riddled with magic and power. I'm going to paint the inside of said clock tower, with its large clock face that overlooks the city, the tables of inventions and blackboards full of blueprints and books as far as the eye can see and the plush, oversized chairs.

It'll take a couple months to finish it, but I'm going to stick with it and get it completed. Tomorrow, I'll set up a little studio in my room so I can start to draw a sketch in pencil.

And of course I'll be sure to post a picture of it when I've completed it. -_^
