Chapter 21 - Jean The Student Butler

I am not allowed at the meeting like usual, but Leocade is going to tell me everything that happens.  Right now I am practicing my dancing.  The band is playing a few doors down.  I am in the spare empty room.  I then hear doors opening and slamming making the music stop, but I can still hear the violin playing in my mind.  I continue to dance until the music dies in my mind.  I then start to giggle looking out the window.  "Encre?"  I hear.  I see Fallacy.  My smile falls and a blank look is on my face.  "Fallacy."  I say coldly.  My posture shifts.  "Why did you attack me earlier?"  He asks a look of worry on his face.  "You have not given me reasons not to, you are lucky I did not decide to just kill you."  I say coldly.  He looks confused.  "Go bug one of your mistresses you murderious tramp."  I say angrily.  He looks extremely hurt by that.  I turn towards the window and he approaches me.  Leocade is watching from the door.  Fallacy reaches a hand towards me and I grab his wrist and force him away from me.  "I do not want to make the floor slippery so stay away from me."   I say, calming myself down to show Leocade I have control.  "Encre, listen to me."  Fallacy says.  "Talk, but do not come near me."  I state calmly.  "I do not know why you are acting this way.  I left for a meeting across the sea and when I got back, it was only maids and butlers.  Suave even told me I was there multiple times throughout the year. I am so confused."  Fallacy says.   I am angry, but I keep my cool.   "So you are saying, there was an imposter, and that you traveled across sea, and did not tell me where you were going? How long you were going to take? That you did not try to kill me and that you did not kill Kip's parents and almost him?  You are saying an imposter did all of that and more." I say blankly.  There is pure silence.  "What..."  Fallacy says.  "What a fake story."  I laugh.   "It was an imposter, you were over seas... So you were not even here for when the war took place."  I laugh to myself a hand against my face.  "Encre... What war?"  Fallacy asks.  "Encre... It is alright."  I hear Leocade say.  He comes over to me and hugs me.  "Encre..."  Fallacy says.  I hold onto Leocade trying hard not to show weakness.  "Leocade..."  Fallacy says angrily.  I move out of Leocade's arms knowing I am about to cry.   I then walk past Fallacy.  "Do not injure yourself."  Leocade says.  "No promises, I am a klutz."  I state going out to door.  "Encre, I... Can..."  Fallacy says worriedly.  I just shake my head leaving.  I go into my calm down room, at least that is what I call it.  It is a spare training room.   

Time skip...

I did injure my hand. Now I am just laying on the ground pushing a burlap sack full of sand, with my foot.  There is a knock at the door.  "Come in."  I sigh boredly.  The door opens and the light is turned on.  I see a butler come in.  "Lord Leocade and his son are requesting your presence."  He says trying to find me in the room.  I stop the sack and stand up.  They look surprised as I straighten out my clothes.  They come over to me and help me with straightening out my clothes.  I have grown used to it.  I am trying to heal my hand.  The butler notices this and helps me out.  He then escorts me to the main room.  "Thank you."  I say nodding. "It was nothing, Lord Encre."  They say taking their leave.  My back straightens and a serious look is on my face.

The doors from the dining hall open as I am waiting.  Leocade smiles at me.  "You are always early."  He says.  I nod and say "The early bird catches the worm."  I say smirking.  Leocade laughs.  Kip comes in from outside.  A butler comes over to me with a towel.  I go over to Kip and cover him with the towel.  He is soaked.  The doors close as I dry him off.  I then pick him up.  Leocade laughs as Kip sneezes.  Leocade comes over to us.   Leocade takes Kip in his arms and carries him to his room.  Kip sneezes again.  My face stays serious.  "Lord Encre, what type of afternoon tea would you like?"  A maid asks coming over to me.  "Surprise me."  I say with a small smile.  The maid smiles brightly before taking their leave.  I then take a deep breath.  I then turn to walk and bump into a butler.  They are falling and I catch them by their waist.   I help them up.  They are blushing a bright red.   "I am so sorry."  They say bowing.  "It is alright, it is just as much my fault as yours."  I say calmly.  They nod and say "I just have been messing up all day, I am so, so sorry."  I laugh.  "Do not worry I might look like I walk around high and mighty, but in reality..."  I say before whispering  "I am a klutz."  I smile at them.  We both laugh.  "Just do things a little slower, and you should be fine.  Plus, have some self confidence it is difficult learning new things."  I say before walking away.  "How did you know?"  They say shocked.  "I read your mind."  I tease.  Their face goes bright red.  "I was only teasing, now you better get going before your supervisor starts to hunt you down."  I say smiling towards them.  "Oh no!  I was supposed to be there in a few moments..."  The boy says.  "I will go with you."  I say smiling.  "There is no need, Lord Encre."  The boy says hurrying off.  I smirk.  I approach a maid.   "Please tell Lord Leocade, I am going to be right back, I just need to do a few things."  I say.  They nod.  "I will let him know Lord Encre." They say, before bowing.  I turn into a bat and fly off.  I go past the boy and towards the training servant supervisor's office.  I transform and enter the office without knocking.  "You are not allowed to be a butler Jean."  I hear.  "Good thing I am not Jean then."  I say smiling as I walk in.  "Oh! Lord Encre!  It is an honour to see you in my office."  She says as I shut the door behind me. "I just came here to apologize if a student of yours comes late again, he has been helping me out a lot recently and he does such an amazing job.  I am truly impressed with how well he is trained."  I say.  "Oh! Really, you must be taking about Agnel! He is our top student."  She says.  There is a knock at the door.  "Enter."  The woman says.  I move over and use some magic.  I see the boy and wink at him.  "Lord Encre, ma'am.  I am extremely sorry that I am late."  The boy says as I am controlling his voice and body movements.  He is bowing before rising.  "Oh, I must thank you for your help earlier.  It was exquisite to have a hand in my painting area."  I say towards the boy.  "It was an honour to help you sir."  I make him say.  "Jean?  He was of help?"  The woman says confused.  "Oh this is Jean... I do hope you reconsider your decision on him, he was such of help to me prior to me arriving here."  I say smiling gently.  "Well if he impresses you so, I will consider, only if his grades will improve."  The woman says.  "I surely do hope you have the right student, sir."  She says.  "I may be a klutz, but I do NOT forget or... Forgive easily."  I say smirking.  "Jean, I request you meet me where we first ran into each other, after my meeting, with Lord Leocade and Lord... Fallacy discontinues."  I say calmly, but say 'Fallacy' bitterly.   "Yes, Lord Encre, of course."   Jean says.  I smile removing my magic.  I turn winking towards him.  "Have a good day, both of you."  I say gently before leaving.  

I transform in the main room.  Leocade is coming down the steps.  The maid is looking at me unsure of what to do.  "It seems, what I was doing took less time then I presumed it would."  I say maturely.  "What ever were you doing?"  Leocade asks.  "Something, special."  I say looking at him with a seductive smirk.  He blushes but then comes over to me.

"If you would have waited... I could have helped."  He says bringing my face close.   My eyes are Purple Hearts as I pull him against me.  He kisses me gently and I kiss him back closing my eyes.  I am the first to pull back as I smirk and say "I love you, Leocade."  My eyes go back to normal as I walk away from him smirking.  "You... Are such a tease."   He says before laughing.  "So are you."  I say sticking my tongue out at him.  He swoops me off of my feet and carries me.  "I love you."  He says smiling.  "I love you too."  I say happily.  He then sets me down before spinning me around.  My stamina is starting to fade and I grow tired and sore.  "My sweet?"  He says worriedly.  "Sorry... My back is just beginning to hurt is all."  I say wincing.  He places a hand where Fallacy had fractured my spine.  "You should be more careful."  I hear an extremely worried voice say.  It is Fallacy's.  "Maybe... You should not have stepped on my spine, trying to kill me."  I snap.  "Oh wait... I mean your imposter should not have."  I am still pissed off.   "Encre... Please try to keep calm."  Leocade says.  I nod sighing.
