"Ryder," I breathed trying to catch my breath.
"Elaina, save it," he interrupts, before I could have the chance to say anything. He pecks me on the lips before he starts to talk again,"Save it because I'm not in the mood. I just had a harsh break up with my girlfriend for you and I'm not ready to be rejected." All his words come out with a rush and I could barely understand him, but managed to salvage what he said in the fast moment. He broke up with his girlfriend for me?
I think to say something again, but decide against the selfish thought of letting him back into my heart, when I know it's only going to happen again. He looks exhausted, as if he has been fighting with himself for hours and never went to sleep, due to him waiting to having this talk.
"Go upstairs," I demand, closing my eyes. He hesitates, but obeys. As he walks up the carpeted stairs, I follow one-step behind. He reaches the top and turns toward me. I love him so much, but is he really giving up a life with his now heart-broken ex girlfriend?
We walk into my room and I quietly shut the door behind us. As my hand leaves the knob, Ryder plants his lips for a second time this morning. "Ryder," I breathe against the kiss,"please. Stop. Kissing. Me," I breathe again, but in between kisses.
"Sorry, but I do. I do love you and I don't want to stop," he pleads tears now streaming down his face.
"It wasn't right for you to leave your girlfriend for me, you know that right?" His face softens and I smile. The tears that had come one minute are now gone and I can only hope that it stays that way."Do you love her?" I ask, needing the answer.
"I-I-I love her, but I love you more!" He quickly stutters. I kiss him on the cheek and leave my room, needing to be somewhere where I need to think and no one will bother me. As my right foot steps out the wooden door, I pull back into my room, pushing away the thoughts of leaving him alone. I pry his intertwined hands from each other and take his left into my right leading him to my bed.
"Lie down," I demand,"my mother doesn't know you're here and let's keep it that way...for now," I demand and he nods his beautiful head. I smile down at him and walk to the other side of the bed. Lying next to him set the butterflies off, the kind that I haven't felt for a while.
He eventually falls asleep and as do I.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walk the long, wide hallways of my school. It has been three days since Ryder has come back into my life, but I still feel like something isn't right, like there's something missing.
Suddenly feeling a warm hand on my shoulder, which awakens me from my thoughts, I whip my body around, wondering what I'll see. There he is, Noah, his chocolate brown eyes boring into mine."So...how's it going, princess?" he says, grinning cheekily.
"Do you guys need something?"I ask, noticing that his friends have come to join the small conversation that seems to have been going on for hours and seems to get longer and longer each minute.
"I just want to chat," Noah replies smoothly, not wanting to wait for my response he continues,"Who's the new kid? Uh... what's his name? Oh, Rydon!" he states, looking sure of himself.
"No, his name's Ryder and everyone already knows him. He moved away a couple years back, but decided to come back, reason being is that he missed his best friend," I managed to tell this aloud without stuttering, which is great.
"Who's his best friend?" his friend, who I now recognize as Brandon Swinsky, questions. At the thought of being Ryder's best friend occurs to me, I also think that I could be something else, due to a couple of make-out sessions at his new apartment.
Awakening me from my thoughts again, this time Noah asking,"Who's his best friend?"
"Me!" I blurt out, but then turn and leave quickly.
-------------
I reach my black Range Rover and hop in, before I can be questioned for why I ran away, and honestly I don't even know why. I find myself not heading home, but to the park. I walk to the swings and sit in one. There is a tap on my shoulder and automatically, I whip my head around, I swear if someone's hand was close enough it would have been chopped clean off by now.
I sigh at the sight in front of my face,"Hey," I whisper. Ryder nods his head and harshly plants his lips on mine. I giggle at the moment and as I go in for more he pulls back, teasing me. I pout at his movement an turn my head away from him.
Ryder takes my face in his hands and turns me towards him. He looks upset."What's wrong, Ryder?" I question him. He looks away, but then turns back with a mischievous look on his face. I raise an eyebrow and he smirks.
"I got you some ice cream," he announced, I then notice some mint chocolate chip ice cream in his hand, behind his back. I swear if he eats it himself, I will go A-WALL. He smiles and places his lips softly on mine and the memory of the ice cream in his hand fades away, but Ryder definitly has the memory in mind because the next thing I knew, The warm air turned to freezing cold. He smashed the perfectly good cone of ice cream on my face! He is dead!
"You have until the count of ten," I assured him. His eyes widened, but the smirk never left its place.
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
"Four."
"Five," Why isn't he moving? Ryder's smirk widens and as I'm about to say six, he licks the melting ice cream from my face and pulls me into him so I can't escape from him.
"I think ice cream tastes better on you," he admitted, still licking my face. I giggle at his compliment and rub the leftover ice cream all over his face. His beautiful blue eyes gleam in the sunlight as he pulls away.
Ryder pulls me in closer and licks my lips, but I didn't notice my mouth was open until I felt his tonue roaming it. I blush and quickly pull away.
The figure of a muscle-y man comes into view and I gasp at the sight,"Ryder."
He turns and stiffens when he sees...
