Chapter 8:

Everything

9 Years Earlier

Harry's POV

"Wake up princess!" I call out. A little wavy haired girl sits up from her bed.

"Daddy!" She squeals. She jumps from her bed and runs on her tiny legs to me.

"Hey baby girl." I smile, pulling her into my arms. The small paper airplane necklace still swung from her neck, a little long. "C'mon, Mommy is making breakfast." I walk downstairs, Ariel at the stove cooking.

"Hey sweetheart!" She says to Darcy.

"Hi Momma." She says. Ariel kisses her plump cheek, Ariel's grey eyes bright. "I wanna go play." Darcy squirms in my arms.

"What?" I pretend not to hear her. She kisses me on the cheek, giggling. Setting her down, she runs off. My arms wrap around Ariel's waist. My chin rests on her shoulder and she leans her head back on mine. "I love you..." I murmur.

"I love you too Harry." She smiles. "But right now, I'm trying to focus on making breakfast, and that's a bit hard with you around here."

"Ok." I sigh, backing away.

"Daddy!" I hear Darcy call. I quickly run to the living room where she was.

"What's up?" I ask her. Darcy's hair was longer then usual for her age, just around her waist with little waves.

"Come play with me."

"What're you doing?" I ask. She had fish cheeks and bright green eyes, and I knew for sure when she was older she'd be a heartbreaker.

"Here, take the baby."

"Oh, sweetheart I don't know how to hold a baby." I lie. "Can you show me?"

"Daddy!" She exclaims. "You should know how to hold a baby!"

"Your right! But Mommy loved you so much she never let me hold you."

"You hold me all the time." She smirks. Darcy was so intelligent she surprised me everyday. She looked so adorable when she smirked or rolled her eyes, and it hurt to see her cry.

"Ok, fine, you got me." I kiss her cheek, chuckling.

"Breakfast is ready!" Ariel calls out.

"Race you to the table Daddy!" Darcy giggles, taking off on her little legs.

***

"There." Ariel smiles, setting a now clean and dressed Darcy on the ground. She was wearing a green and white sundress, her wet hair down.

"When are my uncles coming over?" Darcy doesn't look up from the puzzle she was solving.

"They'll be here in a few minutes." I kiss the top of her head. Darcy and Ariel were my everything, I don't know what'd I'd do if one of them got hurt.

"The boys are here!" Ariel calls from downstairs. Darcy jolts into a standing position at the news, running to the stairs.

"Darcy don't run down the stairs!" I call after her, catching up with the fast little girl.

"Sorry Daddy!" She smiles. I pick her up, not wanting her to fall. It was something I always did, and Ariel said I had to stop because she needed to learn how to go up and down a staircase by herself.

"Hey Baby Direction!" Louis calls at Darcy.

"Uncle Niall!" Darcy screeches happily.

"Well that hurts..." Louis says. Niall chuckles, and as soon as we reach the bottom of the steps, Darcy begins squirming. I set her down and she runs to Niall, Niall lifting her up in the air. Darcy plants a kiss on his cheek, and Niall smiles widely. She's passed from arm to arm and she settles in Zayn's. Niall and Zayn had to be some of her favorite uncles, but she loved to play outside with Louis because he was still youthful like her. As for Liam, she loved to have tea parties with him. She usually invited us all but Liam was definitely her favorite in that department.
