Chapter 14:
Until Then
Darcy's POV
"Whatcha gonna do about it?" The man snarls in my face. What was I going to do? My heart begins racing.
"Let go." I say forcefully. He raises his fist and it knocks beneath my left eye, I cry out, my knees buckling and making me drop to the ground.
"Learn to listen!" He kicks me, sending me coughing and sputtering. I couldn't get up, I didn't want to. He goes for my satchel, but then the anger boils inside of me.
"Screw you!" I stand up, my legs no longer wobbly. I kick him in the stomach.
"You little bitch!" He roars, shoving me into the brick walls.
"LEAVE HER ALONE!" Someone yells. The man turns to the person, and I can hardly see. My head hurts, and I feel dizzy. My back aches from the sudden and rough impact. The voice is female, and I can see the woman is aiming something at him. The man backs off and eventually disappears from sight. A blonde woman looms over me, a concerned expression etched upon her pretty face. She looked familiar, but I don't know why. Her big blue eyes were filled with worry, her eyebrows brought up in concern. "Are you ok?" She asks softly. I squeeze my eyes shut, my left hand feeling beneath my left eye. A bruise was forming there, I could feel it.
"I...I don't know. Am I?" I laugh a little.
"You almost got mugged and your laughing." She states. "Strange."
"I'm not some regular little girl." I sigh, standing up and gathering myself. I fix my hair and brush the dirt off my clothes.
"Clearly." She says.
"Thanks for helping me..." I murmur.
"Your welcome. Where are your parents anyway?" She asks. Great. What should I tell her? I settle on the truth.
"I...I honestly don't know."
"When was the last time you saw them?" She asks, wanting to help me find them. I laugh. That'd be no easy job.
"Ten years ago." I say.
"What?" She gawks.
"Yeah..." I murmur.
"So you've been running around for ten years?"
"Couple of days." I smile cheekily.
"You remind me a lot of someone I know..." She smiles a little.
"Really? Who? I mean, if you don't mind me asking?"
"A friend of mine I like to call Haz."
"Haz?" I giggle. I notice that were walking side by side. "That's a weird name. Speaking of names what's yours?"
"I'm Perrie. Perrie Malik."
"Perrie..." I say. "I'll call you Per."
"Per it is." She smiles. Per has a nice smile, one I'd like to have. "What's your name?" I don't think I should tell her...due to the fact I'm 'missing'.
"I'm... Dar." I can't help but giggle at the ridiculous name.
"...Whats your real name?" Crap. Even better.
"I'm...I can't tell you..."
"Then what should I call you?"
"I don't know you decide."
"Ok Pixie." She smiles widely.
"Pixie?"
"Your tiny." She shrugs. I frown.
"I'm not that tiny."
"Whatever you say Pixie." She smirks.

"Are you sure your husband will be ok with this?" I ask, gesturing to the couch she was letting me sleep on.
"He's staying with his friend. He doesn't have to know, and I know he'd be ok with it. He's a great man." She smiles, her eyes holding a distant look.
"I'm sure he is..." I murmur.
"Goodnight Pixie." She smiles wider.
"Goodnight Per." I smile back. I lay back on the couch, the small smile fading from my lips. I miss them. I miss them badly. Having Perrie around gave me a sense of grounding. She reminded of how a mother should be. I close my eyes, falling into a deep slumber.

Perrie's POV
I yawn quietly as I make my way to the living room. Pixie still lay there, sleeping. Worry was etched over he beautiful features, her brow creased and her lip jutting out in a pout
"I love you Mommy, I love you Daddy..." She whispers. A frown tugs at my lips. I move closer. She looked so much like her. I guess that was part of the reason I helped her. Her voice, her eyes, her smile, her hair. Everything. A small glint of light beams off a shiny thing on her neck. I move closer, sitting in front of her. My blue eyes widen, taking in the paper airplane necklace. No! That was outrageous, plenty of fans had gotten knockoff replicas of Harry's necklace...but this...she was...she didn't even know who One Direction was! She twitches in her sleep and I quickly back away, not wanting to get caught watching her.
"Morning Pixie." I say, walking to the kitchen.
"Morning!" She calls back. Her slight curls bounce as she catches up with me. "I was thinking..." She murmurs, her large green eyes peering into mine. "Maybe, I should go today. I don't want to burden you and your husband." The thought of losing Pixie saddened me for some reason.
"No, please, I'd like you to meet my husband, possibly even my friends." I nearly beg.
"I don't know...look Per, I'm trying to keep it low profile." She whispers.
"Why? Why can't you tell me who you are?" I ask softly.
"Because it's unethical. You could ruin my dreams of finding them. I have to do this." She says defiantly. Her stubbornness reminded me of Ariel, a bit of Harry's sass mixed in. God I was tricking myself into such ridiculous hopes.
"Could you at least tell me your name?"
"Sorry..." She whispers.
"Middle?" I beg.
"No."
"Last?"
"You'd know me was too well if I told you my last name." She sighs.
"Please?"
"I'm sorry. I truly am. Maybe, when I find them, I'll come see you, tell you who I really am, and then you'll know. I'd love to meet your husband then. I'd love to meet your friends then, but until then, I can't."
"Ok Pixie, I'll let you go." I sigh.
"Until then." She smiles a little.
"Until then." I repeat.
