Becoming Me - Prologue
Flashback to 2004
Young...too young to handle something like this. I was just five years old, five years old when my parents changed my life forever.
I was waking up from my nap when I heard very loud screaming.
"So I'm a bitch now, because I'm tired of this. I'm so sick of you, so leave and don't come back!" my mom screamed at my dad. I was too young to understand what was really going on but I knew it was bad. I thought by walking in the room it would have made everything better.
"If I have to leave then I'm taking her with me," my dad said quickly grabbing my arm. Before I even realized what was happening my mom slapped my dad so hard I'm sure the neighbors could have heard.
"No, she's staying with me! Now leave," she said with so much hatred in her voice. My dad had the most hurt expression on his face that I have ever seen in my life. To this day it is still imprinted in my mind. He just turned away, and left.
That was the moment that forever changed my life. Instead of having one big happy family now I have two screwed up families. It's hard but I'm trying to find me, and discover who I am in life rather than what my life has made me up to be.
