"The reverbations of that voice wandered sweetly, softly, working like a massage in the area of my heart that was the most clenched, helping those knots to loosen." (Asleep by Banana Yoshimoto)

LILLI FLIPPED THE BACK COVER of her book shut and sighed sadly. It was the only book she had brought with her from her house, and other then her clothes, it was the last remnant of her past life.
Also, it had been a really sad book filled with character deaths, but Lilli was positive that that had nothing to do with her misty eyes.
Probably.
She stood up and put the book into her bookshelf. "Great," she muttered to herself. "My bookshelf now has a grand total of one book." Lilli turned to her bed and was about to lay down to take a nap when someone knocked on her door.
Assuming it was Jean, Lilli opened the door with a smile that soon faded when she saw Pornoro? Glornoro? Stororo? Something-oro looking back at her. "Hi," the girl said. "I'm Ororo. Jean said to bring you back down?"
Ororo! Lilli nodded, she was her new roommate. "Yeah, she said after an hour she'd come get me. I guess it's been an hour." Lilli stepped out of her room, shutting the door behind her as she and Ororo walked down the hallway.
"So, invisibility?" Ororo asked. "That seems nice. Can you make other things invisible, too?"
Lilli shook her head. "No, not yet. It's hard enough making myself invisible and then visible again." She replied. "But Professor Xavier said we would work on that."
"Yeah, he's helped me a lot with my mutation. I can make storms." Ororo said.
"That's really awesome. I wish I could do something like that." Lilli replied, a frown turning down the corners of her mouth. "I'm stuck with erratically turning invisible."
"Please, invisibility is totally awesome! You just can't control it yet, that's why you don't like it. But don't worry—Professor Xavier will help you with that. Soon enough you'll be perfect at it!" Ororo assured Lilli. "Okay, here we are. Anything Scott or Warren says that is offensive, brush it off."
Lilli nodded, but didn't see how bad it could get. They were just two boys. Lilli had dealt with her fair share of annoying boys, and there was no harm in them. Except these annoying boys were potentially dangerous... Lilli pushed that thought to the back of her mind as she and Ororo arrived. They turned the corner into the same lounge room as before, and Lilli sat on one of the couches. She was squished between Jean and Ororo, but she wasn't uncomfortable. They somehow made her feel welcome.
Lilli's gaze shifted over the boys in the room: Scott, the goggle boy, and the blue boy.
Where's Warren? Lilli couldn't help but wonder. Since Jean had told her earlier to be careful around him, Lilli's mind couldn't stop thinking up images of what he looked like. Was he super big and intimidating? Were his tattoos covering his whole body, rendering his features unrecognizable? Did he speak English? Was he so strong that he could snap Lilli like a twig?
Lilli's mind was running around with so many possibilities of what this mysterious Warren could look like that she didn't even notice a figure slip into the room.
"Hey, Warren!" Lilli heard Jean call from beside her. Lilli jumped, looking around the room for a big, burly, tattooed man. Her gaze instead fell upon a tall, muscled blond boy who was crouching down in front of a bookshelf. The boy was facing away from the girls, so all Lilli could see was his head of blond curls. When Jean called out, though, he turned and looked at Jean. He nodded once in hello and turned back around to the bookshelf, not even noticing Lilli. But she had noticed him.
