Mia was sitting on the couch thinking about the wedding and the son she was going to have.
"I'm engaged!" How many times in the last few years did Mia hear those words and was ashamed of the pang of envy she felt? As she greeted future lucky brides, who were demonstrating their hands to admire the shiny stone on the fourth finger of her left hand, she tried to be honest with the words as she thought, "When will it be my turn?" Then she met Gideon, and she truly fell in love with him, and now, finally, it was she who wore the alliance.
Mia sighed as she examined the ring, turning her hand from side to side to allow the stone to reflect on the sun and shine. She was very excited about marrying the man of her life.
In a way, Mia picked up her laptop, and as she turned it on she bit her lower lip. Gideon had gone to the Smithsonian and then went to the bookstore again, had already read the book he had bought last week. Mia knew exactly what was driving her excitement and happiness. Getting married meant getting married and that was where the problem was. It was not the wedding itself, that was the problem, or the fiance being Jason Gideon, she truly loved him and did not see herself marrying a man other than Jason Gideon. The problem was his aunt and his cousin. Mia was sure that she did not want her Aunt Laura, who was considered by Mia as a very venomous rattlesnake snake and her cousin Jackie Jhonson, who was married to a British model, who as Mia always called her ignorant and insolent and very stuck The beast, she did not want them on the happiest day of her life. Mia had lost her father before she was born and her mother died when she finished medical school, even after her mother's death, Mia met them. Never!
Kate called Mia to hear about the engagement party.
"Ah, I do not know. This is with Gideon." Told Mia
"But you've already started to prepare the wedding, to choose the dress, how many people are going ..." she asks Kate.
"No, more or less, I still do not know who goes on Gideon's part, because I have not asked yet, but as soon as I get there I ask," Mia said on the phone, looking for simple bridal gown shops in Roanoke County. "I'm looking for bridal gown stores now. Where it's going to be, I still do not know, nor how many people are going, I do not want a big party, and I have to ask Jason."
"It's fine, as soon as I know it," Kate said, smiling.
Kate was impossible but Mia loved her very much. Her best friend was one of the few positives of her marriage, Mia thought as she read an announcement of bridal gowns.
Mia was spfendo with the pregnancy was just nauseous, behind of sickness, vomitos behind vomitos, dizziness behind dizziness. But the worst of it was that if she felt full and moaned in pain, Gideon was protective and asked a million times "is the baby okay?" And she responded to all "yes!".
"That sigh came from the bottom of the soul!" Gideon said entering the cabin.
"I was just remembering my aunt and my cousin that they are two rattlesnakes and that they would end up ruining my day at the wedding, because when I broke up with Conrad, they said I was being selfish." Said Mia sadly.
"Well, do not feel like that, you had your reasons." You did what you believed to be the most correct, after all he betrayed you with Jhoanna. You would not stay the rest of your life with a traitor. And you're getting married With me, so if you do not want to, they do not have to come to the wedding. " He said kissing her.
"I believe that if it was the other way round, they would have accepted the separation in a good one, and they would have judged me with any, but how was he I had to shut up and stay with him?" Mia said in a dry tone that made Gideon smile.
"And it was because of our marriage that made you think about it all, that maybe I'll see you betray." He said rather sadly.
"I know you will not betray me. You would never do this to me." She said kissing him.
Gideon looked at the clock and announced the time.
"I'd better move." I told Mia reluctantly. "Kate will come back later to talk about the wedding, solve all the questions in it, and now before I forget, is anyone on your side going to the wedding, my love?"
"Stephen." He said quietly, when Mia had a lightheadedness and Gideon rose from the couch with a swiftness and sure before she fainted.
"love?" Asks Gideon twice before Mia wakes up.
"what happened?" She asks Mia as she gets up from the bed very slowly.
"You fainted, you feel better, dear." He asks, gently stroking her hair.
"I'm better, yes. What were we talking about before I passed out?" She asks.
"We were talking about the wedding and how many people on my part were going."
"how many?" She asked as she sat on the bed with Gideon sitting beside her.
"Stephen, and maybe my old team, I mean Reid, my best friend Rossi and the others too." Said Gideon.
"Did you call them?" Mia asks still a little bewildered.
"For Stephen yes, he was happy with the two news and agreed to be my godfather to his girlfriend, is a beautiful girl, the others I will call." He said and kissed Mia on the forehead. "Try to rest a little love, it will calm the baby a little."
"It's fine, but when Kate comes, she calls me." She said as she lay down on the bed.
"Rest now," he said as he left the room.
Mia woke up with her cell phone ringing. It was her aunt telling her she was going to the wedding. Mia hung up the phone and threw it on the floor, Gideon ran to the bedroom.
"What happened, love?" He asks, holding her.
She was the witch of her aunt, demanding that she go to the wedding whether I want to, or I do not want to. She is your unbearable daughter, "she told Mia.
"Do not worry, love. It'll all work out." He said, hugging her.
Mia did not want her aunt and cousin at the wedding. Just thinking of being kind to that old venomous snake and with that fresh, ignorant cousin of hell even does not want them to see painted gold, she was already irritated to the extreme. Sometimes her cousin irritated her deeply. Mia was trying to get them in marriage, as to invite the husband's side of the family of her cousin to your wedding. It was horrifying. If only they denied the request, but they did not have to accept it "with pleasure." That sarcasm on the phone was disgusting at Mia.
"Do not think about it now. Focus on marriage and baby, that's what Mia is important." She thought to herself as she ate the sandwiche and drank her decaf. And suddenly Jhoanna came to mind, she was about to make herself to Gideon, which she did not even do to Conrad. Mia could already imagine Jhoanna chasing Gideon at the wedding, or even at the engagement, which she does not even do with all Roanoke's men, if Conrad does not put chains on her, she lies with the whole world, causing severe stress to all Married women including Mia. Jhoanna was a stalker and manipulator. He liked to complicate the lives of couples, if they made their men. She liked to complicate the lives of many couples, not to say that she was the cause of many couples' divorces. But Mia knew Jason was different from the others. Gideon would not let Jhoanna spoil his life, nor would he fall into her low tricks.
Mia knew that everyone thought of Jhoanna and they saw her as a bitter woman who could not catch the man except by using the oldest excuse of all, became pregnant, but then lost her son and Conrad felt sorry.
The wedding was coming, it was less than a month before she and Jason were to be married, and Mia hoped there would be no unforeseen events until their wedding day. Mia also noticed that Gideon was nervous about the marriage, of course he had married once, but he was nervous.
