Chapter #3 Getting Claimed

When Chiron saw the flowers that popped up around Allora's feet, he was surprised. They walked over to the fire pit to join the rest of the campers.

When everyone was settled, Chiron introduced the new visitors and they all sang some songs. After they sang, the flames of the fire went back to its normal size.

Suddenly, someone gasped. It was one of the other campers. Everyone looked around and were surprised when their eyes landed on Allora.

Above her head was not one, but two symbols. One was an owl, and the other a braided whip. Chiron announced that Allora's mother is Athena, goddess of wisdom and her father is Orcas, god of eternal punishment. Allora was surprised, because she thought her father was mortal.

What Allora didn't know was that when she was claimed, the same symbols appeared on her right wrist. She didn't see it until she looked down at her feet.

Annabeth came over and gave Allora a hug and said that Allora was her half sister. Allora was very happy.

Next, it was Aria's turn. When a snowflake appeared over her head, everyone gasped. Not just at the symbol, but her hair turned white and she had an icicle in her hand. Chiron said that Aria's mother was Khione, the ice queen.

Now that Aria and Allora were claimed, Chiron told the older kids to show them their cabins. Allora followed Annabeth to the Athena cabin and was introduced to her other siblings. Aria went to the Big House, because Khione did not have a cabin at camp like the others yet.

The next day, they started their classes. Their first class was archery. Allora found out that she wasn't very good at it, but she was able to use bladed weapons, especially knives.

In elements class, Allora learned how to control her powers and found out that Demeter is her grandmother and that is why she could grow plants. Her teacher said that it was very rare that a child of Athena could grow plants. Towards the end of the lesson, she was able to make a big tree grow and take it back down.

By the end of the day, she was exhausted and wanted to skip dinner, but she ended up playing capture the flag. Aria was placed on Allora's team and she hid the flag by climbing a tree and Allora guarded the flag on the ground by fighting off the other team as they tried to get close. At the end of the game, their team won, because they got the other team's flag first.

Because their team won, they didn't have any chores or classes, which made Allora very happy, because Allora was really tired. She went to her cabin and fell asleep on her bed. Later, Annabeth came and woke her up for dinner.
