"Mr. Farquarson I understand that you were the legal guardian of Sophie before the incident, but do you really believe you can take care of her now?" The woman asked me, looking around at the house that I had cleaned right before she got to the house.

I had my final interview with child protective services before I could or couldn't have her back in my life. To say I was nervous would be an understatement, I felt absolutely petrified.

All I wanted was to walk by her beautiful lavender room and see her in there painting on the walls once more. I wanted a reason to wake up before one in the afternoon. I wanted just one person in my life because everyone else was gone.

"Yes ma'am. I've done everything you told me to."

She then got up and asked me to show her around my house.

"This here is the kitchen and the dining room." I said and showed her the small kitchen that was once filled with cookies and mac and cheese.

I then led her to the back of the house.

"This room is my music room. But I was thinking about turning it into an art room." She then looked at me like I had spoken a different language.

"Sophie loves to paint." I told and she just nodded and dribbled something on her clipboard.

"Who's room is this?" She asked me, opening the door to Dan's room. It was the once place I hadn't visited in weeks. Everything was covered in a layer of dust, his clothes still laying messily on the floor.

"That's, um my friend's room." I told her, feeling my throat beginning to get raw.

"Does he currently live here?"

I then looked at her, my eyes welling with fresh tears.

"He was um, he isn't with us anymore." I muttered. How do you tell someone that one of your best friends killed your other best friend?

"Oh my condolences sorry for being insensitive."

I then shook it off and proceeded to show her the rest of the house.

"Well Mr. Farquarson it seems that you would make a perfect guardian for Sophie. Extremely unconventional but perfect." The woman grinned and then explained that I would go to the foster home in the morning to pick her up.

I walked up to the big house, my legs shaking from underneath me.

My heart felt like it would explode in my chest at any moment. Happiness had never felt so debilitating before. Not the sold out O2 arena or our first song on the radio had even come close to the feeling I felt.

I then rang the doorbell, and was greeted by a woman who looked to be my age. "You here for Sophie?" She asked me with a smile, and then led me upstairs.

"She's the second room on the right." She told me, and left me to check on a child.

Slowly I made my way, and stopped outside her door. On the door was a little dry erase board with her name on it, and little doodles around it. It made me smile.

I then opened the door, and saw her. Asleep on her bed was my little girl. Her big brown eyes were closed and her brown hair was spread in every direction on the pillow.

I then walked over to her bed and sat on the end of it.

"Sophie, sweetie wake up."

Her eyes slowly opened, a smile taking over her face as soon as she saw me.

"Willy!" She screamed, and jumped on top of me.

I wrapped my arms around her, feeling something wet on my shoulder. She looked up from my embrace, tears streaming down her face and onto her lavender nightgown.

"I thought you left me." She cried, barely able to get a sentence out.

"I would never leave you. Remember our pinky promise?"

Here's a little happy to change it up a little bit. Haha sorry for that last chapter, I probably shouldn't have put that in here.

There's probably going to be around two more chapters in here but we'll see.
