An incident three years ago in Shadybrook occurred when ten girls went missing and only one was found dead. She had unusual markings that seemed uncapable for a human to possess.
Now Ariana is moving into Shadybrook to pursue her dream, but what if...
My heartbeat quickened as I crossed the entrance of the high school. Eyes quickly glanced past me, and murmuring started. A typical new girl situation where she strolls down the hallway, shy and vulnerable, with everyone looking at her. But I straighten up with my head held confidently high. Im here to take my future seriously. I already had a campus tour before I actually moved here, and had memorized my assigned classes. Alright, you can do this Ariana.

I glanced up at the clock. It was seven P.M, and I was at the library for some work already, the first day of school went by quick, I met a friend in one of my writing classes, her name was Amy .
"Hi!" A girl in a black top with ripped jeans sat next to me.

"Hey." I greeted back.
"I'm Amy, I've heard you're the new girl." She raised an eyebrow at me.
"You've heard correctly. I'm Ariana by the way."
"That's such a nice name. What made you move here?"
"This school, it's rated one of the best in the country."
"Sure is, just people don't move her but many attend this school, just don't live around here ever since the incident two years ago."
"You mean the one with the kidnapping?" I ask.
"Yeah. Surprised you already heard about it."
"A little research." She nodded her head and gave a smile, "And besides who cares if there's some monster in this town. Or- a killer."
"I guess people would rather play it safe"
"Pft, please, that happened two years ago! How can people still be hooked on this crime? Probably it was just once and that's it. Multiple places have deaths, like Chicago, yet people still move there."
"Yea, cause' it's a big city. Here it's slightly small, you'll never know what's out there."
I pondered and thought about the conversation for a long time. I needed to know more details about what happened two years ago here in this place. Like how was the body found? Was it naked, partly burned? And why is there still a curfew if nothing has happened. The mayor should have common sense. Unless, something has happened but the secret isn't out yet. Maybe there was another victim recently. Sounds all sketchy and shit.
A so-called monster, which is pretty stupid. It is a human who did the murders but I guess everyone calls him or her a monster. I just still don't understand why everyone is so overprotective and fearful about something that happened two years ago. Doesn't make sense.
"Hey young lady, library closing. You should go, it's almost eight." The fifty year male librarian shouted from his desk. I nodded and packed my stuff. I checked the time, seven fifty. Shit, I won't make it home on time, especially in these heels. I quickly bounce out the library and start walking down the road to my left, it was the only shortcut. After a few minutes the view of buildings slowly dissapeared and it was just open road and tall trees on both sides of me.
I kept walking on the road hoping no car would appear that can run me over. The moon was quite big, and it was clear. My pace slowed down as I looked at the beautiful shining moon. I stopped to take a picture with my IPhone 7 and right when I finished I heard a rustle from a nearby plant. Suddenly it began to be cold, I started speed walking, praying it was just an animal. While I was walking I pulled out my phone and input 911 just incase for I can be prepared. My battery then died. What the hell? It was just on sixty percent. My breath quickened as I became shaky from fear.
Damn it Ariana, you know better than not to take dangerous shortcuts, especially on the road where a dead girl was found.
I stopped in my tracks, probably not the best thing to do, but I was shaking uncontrollably. I took deep breaths.
Get to your senses girl. There is nothing to be afraid of.
I straightened my jacket and continued walking. Just five more minutes and you reach more buildings where it's safe, where's your apartment.
Crunch. Crunch.
I turn around quickly, I heard footsteps on leaves.
No you're just imagining Ariana. Hurry up and go.
I turn back around. I kept walking again. I started sweating out of no where. It became hot when it was just cold. Something wasn't right.
Run Ariana run!
I quickly bent down to take off my heels and ran as fast I can. My hand gripping on the heels as the wind slapped my face and blew my hair. My soft gentle rapid footsteps echoed on the pavement. I started getting glimpses of lights and soon I saw buildings my apartment.
