Stephen's POV
After me and Giselle had lunch on the strip we headed back to our hotel in order to pack our things to get ready for our flight back home. To say that I was overwhelmed with everything would be putting it lightly. I still can't believe that I was so careless and how in the world did Giselle get drunk in the first place? Anyway, what's done is done and I just have to make the best out of this since this will be our life for the next two years. I was throwing my clothes in my suitcase from left to right when I got an incoming call from Klay.
"You okay?" was the first thing that he asked me when I pressed accept.
"It depends on what your definition of okay means." I said in response while taking a seat at the island in my presidential suite.
"Well I mean at least she isn't ugly." I heard Draymond scream in the background. Typical Dray. I was obviously on speaker phone.
"Well yeah but it's just weird. I have to live with someone that I don't even know that well."
"Put it this way. Better publicity for you." I nodded my head even though he couldn't see me because I knew that he was right.
"I think you both are going to eventually fall for each other and you won't be putting on an act anymore." I heard Klay say as I switched on the television.
"Klay, what the hell? She's basically a kid. She's only eighteen."
"Well that obviously didn't matter when y'all were saying the vows two nights ago."
"Shut up Draymond."
"Don't get mad at me. I'm just telling the truth."
I simply shook my head and sighed.
"Look, everything is going to be fine." Klay said trying to reassure me.
"How can you be so sure?"
"From what you have told me and from what I learned from asking about her, she's a sweet girl. Shy most of the time, but you should have no problems."
"Her mom threatened me on the phone."
"Now that's a problem." Draymond said while laughing.
"Well that's their only daughter, I'm not surprised by that."
"You seem to know a lot more about my wife than I do."
"You told me to ask around about her and I did."
"When are y'all leaving to go back home?" I asked trying to change the subject.
"I'll probably stay another week and Draymond is leaving tomorrow."
"I'm leaving tonight with Giselle. Her parents want to meet me this Tuesday."
"You got this. Her mother already threatened you so just be mindful."
"No shit Draymond."
"I'm just trying to help you out. Oh and another thing, can she cook? I can't be coming over your house anymore if you're about to have a nigga starving."
"Seriously?" I asked him while I heard Klay laughing in the background.
"Dead serious man."
"I'll get back to you on that one."
"Damn, Steph's bachelor days are over!"
"No need to rub it in Dray."
"Like I said at least she's not ugly. You picked a good one. Drunk Stephen has good taste." I had to laugh at that. My two best friends trying to do anything and everything in order for me to see the best in this situation.
