Giselle's POV

The car ride wasn't very long but I didn't make much conversation with Stephen because I was thinking about how my mom is going to react when I see her. Will she be happy? Will she even want to talk to me? It sounded on the phone like she did, but what if she has changed her mind since then and came to the conclusion that I am too much of a headache for her? She's told me something along those lines before.

"What are you thinking about?" Steph asked while briefly looking over at me in the passenger seat while Riley was entertaining herself with one of the many toys that Tiana bought her and blowing the occasional spit bubble.

"What if this is a mistake?" I quietly asked while looking down and suddenly being interested in my bracelet that Sydel bought me.

"How would going to see your mother be a mistake?"

"Steph, you know how she is. We have never been close and I highly doubt that it's going to start today. I'm closer to your mother than I am with her."

"But at the end of the day, it's still your mom Giselle."

"I know, I just hope everything goes well."

"We're almost there. Everything is going to be fine. You worry too much."

"I don't think you worry enough. Maybe we should have had sex before we left, I would probably be more calm right now." I said being completely honest while Steph busted out laughing.

"What? I'm serious, it decreases your stress level." I said trying to justify my reasoning.

"I know you are, but that can always happen after we leave and get back home."

"I don't know if I can last that long."

"Well you don't have a choice since we're here. Come on."

"You know it's not too late to turn back."

"That was what you said the first time we had dinner with your parents and it turned out fine and so will today so you have nothing to worry about." He said while kissing my forehead.

"I hope you're right."

"If not, I promise to take you to In and Out. Deal?"

"Can I get the loaded fries?"

"Anything you want."

"Deal." I said smiling and proceeded to get out of the car and grab my purse from the back while Steph got Riley. We walked to the front door and I grabbed my key to open the door. Once we walked in, we heard voices coming from the kitchen and made our way over there to find my parents as well as my cousin Tiana. Why wasn't I surprised? Tiana was always around family no matter how much she complained that she couldn't stand them, except me of course.

"Hey Gigi!" Tiana said while hopping up from her seat next to my mom to give me a hug.

"Hey Ti!" I responded while making my way over to my parents.

"Steph! You treating my girl right? I don't want to..." Steph immediately cut her off.

"You have nothing to worry about I assure you. I know what I have and know that I won't do anything to mess it up." He said while winking at me.

"Alright now. Gigi hold onto him and tight!"

"No worries, already done."

"Hey mom, dad." I said while making my way over to them while I saw Ti and Steph talking out the corner of my eye.

"Hey baby girl." My dad said while hugging me and then I went to hug my mom.

"You ready to meet Riley?" I asked my mom and she quickly nodded. This was the first time she actually got to see her since I just about cut her out of everything I did. My dad was the only one who actually got to see her. I went and unstrapped her and quickly put her in my mother's arms while she just went with the flow and was looking around curiously.
