Giselle's POV
I spent just about the entire night crying. I did my best to hide it from Steph, but I think he noticed it anyway, but didn't say anything so he wouldn't upset me more. I could probably blame it on my hormones at this point since I am three months pregnant as of today. I mean I knew that this day was going to come, but I didn't realize that it was going to come so soon. It seemed like we just left Vegas to go back to California to start our new life and here we are. Stephen would be starting training camp in another week, but I however, was on my way back to school in New York.
I was seriously bummed because I honestly wanted to stay with Stephen, but I know that I need to finish getting my degree and graduate to prove everyone wrong who said I wouldn't be able to do it. He was trying his best to cheer me up, but I was just not feeling it, no matter how much snickers and Reese's cups he bought me. Stephen did surprise me and told me that he got me a condo not too far from campus so that I could have my own space. He showed me the pictures and I was excited to be able to add my own little personal touch to it. I had said my goodbyes to everyone the day before (excluding my mother, she can go kick rocks for all I care) and we were now I don't know how many feet up in the air.
"Can you at least smile for me?" I heard Stephen say from beside me. I usually sit by the window, but since I got pregnant, I now have acquired a fear of heights. I knew if I looked down, I would be vomiting in the next five minutes and since I was already upset, that wasn't a good look.
"How can I when you're going to be on the other side of the country?" I said instantly pouting more than I had been before.
"It won't be for too long. It'll go by faster than you think." He said trying to reassure me while grabbing my hand at the same time.
"But what if something happens with the baby? You won't be anywhere near us. How can you be so calm about all this?" I admit that I could sometimes be a drama queen and blow things out of proportion, however, this was a very big deal.
"Giselle, you have to calm down. Nothing bad is going to happen. We're going to have a healthy baby with no complications in March. You know I will call you fifty times a day when you're not in class and I'm not at practice or a game. We have a lot to look forward to. You got the part on Orange is the New Black and the first season is premiering in a few weeks. Try to stay positive for me. From this moment on, I don't want to hear any negativity out of you." After I heard him say that you know that I instantly had a mini temper tantrum like a two year old.
"Giselle?" I guess he was waiting for my approval.
"Fine." I said while Stephen was pinching my cheek to try to get me to laugh. Unfortunately he succeeded only after two tries.
"There's that smile I love to see on my queen."
"You're lucky I like you."
"Well you married me so I must have did something right." Steph responded while taking a sip of my ginger ale and stealing a Dorito.
"That does not count because I was drunk and stop stealing food from your kid."
"You would have said yes even if you were sober and I already asked and she said it was okay."
"Oh so now you agree that it's going to be a girl? And how can you be so sure that I would have said yes?"
"I just have a feeling it's going to be a girl and she's going to be just like her mother. I know you would have said yes because of the way you can't keep your hands off me." I instantly rolled my eyes.
"If you say so Wardell. How much longer do we have?" I was anxious to get off the plane, but I wanted to soak up as much time with him as possible.
