18. A Husband's/Father's Love Part 2

Stephen's POV

December 17th 2015

2 months later

"What? What do you mean Sydel?" I was now in panic mode because of what she had just told me and I had to make sure that I heard her right.

"Giselle got into an argument with her mom. She showed up at the baby shower. None of us told her so I have no idea how she found out. She stormed off so I just thought I would give her a few minutes to cool down. Me and mom went to go check on her and she was sprawled out on the bathroom floor and I could barely feel her pulse and she was foaming at the mouth so she had a seizure and it's a complication of having high blood pressure when you're pregnant. I just held her until she stopped shaking and mom called 911." Sydel said through crying and her voice cracking. I was currently out with my brother Seth, Draymond, and Klay just having a guys day out when Sydel calls me and tells me that Giselle had to be rushed to the hospital and that she was unconscious after having a seizure due to her high blood pressure. I guess they all saw the look on my face and were trying to ask me what was wrong.

"I thought her mom wasn't supposed to be there?" I was trying to keep calm but my stomach was doing backflips right now.

"I didn't think so either, but there she was. Steph I'm really scared. She looked lifeless."

"Sydel do not do this right now, try to stay calm. Where are they taking her?"

"Sinai hospital. Not too far from Oracle."

"Okay I'm coming."

I hung up the phone and immediately raced to my car with all three of them trailing behind me asking questions. Everyone got in the car and I immediately started speeding towards the hospital and I still hadn't answered their questions.

"Steph! What the hell is going on?" I heard Seth ask from beside me.

"It's Giselle." I said barely above a whisper while I was trying to focus on the road.

"But she's not due until March." I heard Klay say from the backseat. He was probably texting Amirah to see what was going on while I was weaving in and out of traffic and doing my best not to get pulled over.

"She got into an argument with her mother and she stormed off. When Sydel found her she barely had a pulse and she was shaking and foaming at the mouth so she had a seizure." I responding while running a red light.

"Steph I don't think you're fit to drive." Draymond said while pleading with me to pull over.

"I'm fine. We're almost there." Just then I got a incoming call from my mother.

"Mom, what's going on?"

"Stephen I need you to calm down first before I tell you what happened." I was now fearing the worst.

"Mom please don't say she's gone and I'm trying to be as calm as I can, but I don't know if it's working." I knew the tears were going to fall any minute if she did.

"No, she's alive, but they're going to have to deliver Riley early, her oxygen supply is getting cut off so they have to do an emergency c-section." If I only had a few butterflies in my stomach before, I now had millions.

"What? That means she's going to be premature. Giselle is only 31 weeks."

"I know, but it's going to be okay. Stephen you need to stay strong for both Riley and Giselle."

"I'm pulling into the parking lot now."

"Okay we're on the third floor near 318."

"Okay."
