Chapter 30

By the time he returned to the dorm, it was late enough for everyone to be fast asleep. And so, tired out by a long day and an even longer night, the young idol snuck into his room and fell asleep.

He was woken up by Baekhyun shaking him violently, impatience written all over his face.

"Wha-Baekhyun? What are you doing?" Junmyeon asked drowsily.

"What am I doing?" the younger asked. "What are you doing, hyung? Everyone's waiting in the living room!"

He sat up at once. "What? Is something wrong?"

Before Baekhyun could explain, the older was out of bed in a second, bursting out of his room and running to the living room. When he saw the rest of his members on the couch staring at him, he began to fear the worst.

But then he took a step back and realized that nothing was exactly wrong.

He turned around to see Baekhyun looked miffed as well as amused.

"I tried to tell you, hyung," the younger pointed out. "But you seemed to be in a rush."

Junmyeon sighed, running a hand through his hair. "What do you guys want?" he asked.

"I thought you would've found out by now," Baekhyun said, gesturing to the rest of them. "We want to know what happened last night."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb, hyung!" Jongdae stood up. "We know you went to visit Eunji. So tell us all the details?"

Junmyeon narrowed his brows. "Since when were all of you so interested in my love life?"

"That aside," Minseok said, "tell us!"

With all eight of them looking so expectantly at him like he was some sort of bedtime story, Junmyeon found himself locked in place. He sighed. Seemed there was no getting out of this one easy.

"Nothing much happened last night," he told them. "Just..."

He paused. What exactly did happen last night?

"Did she say anything?" Jongin asked. 

"Uh...yeah, she said she liked me," Junmyeon said.

At once, like something had gone off, all of them stood up and crowded around him, showering him with congratulations and even more questions.

"Really? She really said that?"

"That is so cool, hyung!"

"You can finally be happy!"

Chanyeol squeezed him in a happy hug, Jongin giggled (yes, giggled) and asked him when the party was, Jongdae hinted at a proposal, Minseok laughed and clapped him on the back, Sehun muttered about how he needed to get a girlfriend too, at which Junmyeon shot him a look that said "Please don't."

And in all that confusion, Baekhyun stood outside the circle, a smile on his face. Lightly chuckling to himself, he then re-adjusted his glasses and walked back to his room, pulling out his phone.

"And so you told him you liked him?" Naeun completed.

Eunji nodded, sipping her tea. "And then?" Naeun urged her for more.

Eunji shrugged, but couldn't keep the smile off her face. "Then he hugged me."

Naeun clapped her palms to her cheeks. "Oh wow!" she said. "He must've been waiting for so long!"
