One of the upsides, or sometimes downsides, of being an idol was the force put on you to take care of your body.
And honestly, if it weren't for the pressures put on him, not just to keep up with the stamina of their strenuous performances but also to look good, he'd be lying on the couch munching on a bag of chips.
Now that he thinks about it, that was exactly what he did yesterday...
But here he was, forced into the gym to maintain his figure. And all he could think of was how Baekhyun got to stuff himself after they finished their recent performance.
He was jealous of his junior.
Luckily though, Chanyeol had volunteered to go with him so he wouldn't be alone, which did mean that he took pity on his older brother, not that he would ever admit it. He did still appreciate him for coming. Out of all the members, Chanyeol always had the best encouragement to give, along with the slight teasing and prodding.
Without him, he would've given up at the door itself.
With the younger's encouragement, he managed to make it through a good long workout. Just as he went over to get a bottle of water, his phone rang, with Eunji's ID on the screen.
He picked it up. "Hello?"
"There you are!" she said. He couldn't help but smile at the familiar excited tone of her voice.
"What's up?" he asked.
"Nothing much..." Her voice had taken on a slightly coy tone, making him raise an eyebrow. "Just wondering when and how you're going to make it up to me..."
"Huh?"
"Remember?" she urged. "At the photoshoot, you asked me to bear with you saying that you'd make it up to me later. Well, I'm holding you to that promise."
He honestly couldn't believe she remembered something like that.
Why wouldn't she, after what kind of a shoot it was? he thought. Kim Junmyeon, sometimes you're an absolute idiot.
He ransacked his brain for any ideas of what to do. He had actually forgotten about the deal he made with her, not that he'd tell her that, because he was sure she would actually kill him for that.
Nothing, he thought. I have absolutely nothing.
"When do you have a break?" he asked.
"I have a recording on Friday and then I'll be free in the evening," she said. "Will that work for you?"
He smiled. "It's perfect."
"Alright, see you then?"
"I'll text you the details."
She cut the call and he put his phone down, turning around to see Chanyeol sitting on the bench watching him.
"So...any idea what to do?" he asked.
Junmyeon shook his head. "Not a clue."
***
She just wrapped up her recording when she received a text from him. Well, maybe she had rushed to check it much more hurriedly than she should have.
Could you blame her?
It had been three days since she had last spoken to him. Three days since he had contacted her. When she had first attempted to contact him, he had shushed her up saying that it was a surprise.
She had been going out of her mind the last three days.
He really wasn't helping even now. When she opened his text, all it said was "I'll pick you up at 7." This was soon followed by another text: "dress casual."
