Ohana

I walked into my room and flopped onto the lumpy bed, ready to get me addiction. Jared and Jensen just looked at me. "What?" I tilted my head just like Cas(s).

Dang, I watch to much Supernatural! Pft nah!

Jensen shoved his hands in his pockets and asked "What the crap are you not supposed to have?" Little giggles bubbled out of me as I answered,"Chill out guys. It's nothing bad, seriously. I can't have a lot foods rich in like sugars and stuff like that. Messes with the chemo." I waved a hand around. "Georgia is just stealing me some sour punch straws and sour patch kids. They are like my crack, honestly." I finished with a laugh.

Jared looked half way amused and thoughtful, like he couldn't decide whether to laugh or not. Jensen chuckled softly. "So...what do you guys wanna do?" I asked, lazily. They shared a look and turned back to me. I quirked an eyebrow as I waited. "We weren't going to tell you just yet, but we got you out." Jensen beamed. My mouth hit the floor. "W-what? H-how?" I was nervous to explain this to them. "Rae? You look pale. You're out, be happy!" Jared gushed. "Uh...yeah, yeah I"m happy, totally. It's just that...I don't want to leave." I mumbled the ending, knowing how it sounded.

"What do you mean you don't want to leave?" Jared asked gently. I paused and then sighed. "I don't have a family. There I said it." I huffed. Saying it out loud just made it sound so much worse than it does when I whisper it in the early morning after another restless night. I couldn't stand to see the confused and pitied looks I was receiving. I crossed my arms, almost to protect myself from the looks. "You don't have a family? So, like your parents aren't in the state or something?" Jensen wondered. I gave a humorless laughed and explained,"No, I wish. I mean my parents threw me in the foster system because they didn't want me. The doctors knew that I would get cancer, something about my blood or bone marrow or whatever. So my parents didn't want to deal with me, the mutant." I could feel the tears forming but I rubbed them away. I looked up to them with a quivering smile. Smile through the pain, right? My heroes do.

Their mouths dropped. Rushing to sit beside me, they both grabbed my hands. The comfort felt so nice and warm. "Raelyn West, you listen to me. You are an amazing young lady. I know we just met, I know I speak for Jared on this, but we consider you family. You are important and in no way are you a mutant. You are a human who just has a touch of cancer." I giggled and poked Jensen, "Did you quote The Fault In Our Stars at me?" His face turned bright pink and he poked me back. We all laughed and I still softly giggled once they had calmed down.

"Rae, I'm so sorry that you've had to go through all this. I can't imagine how this must be for you." Jared apologized to me. I just shrugged pathetically. "I just want family, you know? I guess my parents never heard of ohana." They just squeezed my hands.

Jensen perked up and was about to speak when Georgia walked in,"Here you go sweet pea. I got your favorite flavors." she sang. I squeezed their hands and looked to Georgia. "Did you get the green ones and the blue ones?" I almost squealed. She held up a few green and blue packs of sour patch straws and a few king sized sour patch kids bags. I definitely squealed then. "I love you sooooo much!! You're the best person ever! Did I tell you I love you?" I hugged her and took my crack. I munched on my candy while Georgia unhooked me from everything and got my Leave The Hospital clothes from my bag.

Hey rays of sunshine! Hope you all are awesome and hope school isn't too bad. I'm sorry that I've been slacking! School is brutal right now and I've been sick. Ew right? Anyway, thank you for reading so far! I promise I'm going to be better at updating. Have a good day/night/sleep/nap/banquet! Rock on!
