Chapter 10.

SHANTAL'S POV~
I grabbed Lillee's wrist and licked the blood that trickled down her arm. She just stared at me confused until she saw that the wound healed almost immediately after my saliva hit it. Perks of being me.
"What, what's going to happen to me?" Lillee asked frightened as her eyes began to tear up while she stared at the scarred over wound. I thought for a minute trying to wrap my mind around something to say that will calm her down but nothing seemed to work, even in my mind.
"Well you know how you always believed in werewolves?" I asked her sitting down and gripping her wrist in my hand tightly and keeping my eyes locked on hers. She nodded slowly as a look of confusion crossed her face once more at my seemingly random question.
"Well there are other things out there besides us too, the kid that did this, he is a vampire." I said slowly watching her eyes as she absorbed the information I had just given her.
"No no no no no no  no no no no" Lillee repeated over and over shaking her head back and forth violently.
"Lillee calm down, Lillee!!" I yelled grabbing her face making her stop and stare at me once again as tears began to slip down her cheeks.
"Am I going to die?" She asked staring at me as her lip quivered out of fright. I gave her a sad smile and looked down at my feet. Wrong move Shantal, now she is gonna freak again.
"I am!? You looked down, I am aren't I!?!?!" She yelled ripping her arm away from my hands as she now held her own wrist covering the wound with her other hand.
"Well, yes honey, you are going to die." I started and her eyes widened with fear and she began to back away from me quickly shaking her head once more.
"No, I didn't mean it like that, you are going to die but you will come back, but as a-" I stopped and bite my tongue when I almost said blood sucker, it isn't her fault he bit her.
"So I am going to live?" She asked coming closer to me again and her eyes lost the fright and filled with wonder. I nodded and she smiled brightly, she didn't know of the pain that was to come of her transformation though, and I wasn't going to tell her.
"You need to get some sleep honey it will help with the change." I soothed and she nodded and went to lay in a sleeping bag she had laid out earlier. I waited till I heard her heart slow down signaling she was really asleep and that's when I turned to the others anger flashing through me.
"Why did you guys follow me?!" I growled at them and Hailey immediately dropped to her hands and knees and dropped her belly to the floor.
"We had to make sure you were okay." Louis said quietly keeping his eyes to the floor. I looked over at Liam and shot him a strong glare and even he averted his eye.
"I am not a cub! You need to stop treating me like I am one!!" I yelled and my breathing grew sharply stronger and my canines shot out becoming about thumb length.
"We just had to make sure you wouldn't get hurt!" Liam snarled at me snapping his jaws together. I jumped and shifted to my wolf before tackling him to the ground and holding his muzzle between my jaws.
"You do not speak to me like that, I am alpha here, you treat me with respect!" I growled into Liam's mind and he let out a slow long whimper. I released him and he stood quickly but kept his gaze to the floor.
"If you dumbasses would have done as I said then we wouldn't be dealing with this right now!" I growled the anger in me not residing in the slightest. I know I may be over reacting about this all but I had the strange urge to protect Lillee, and that is what I will do, even if it cost me my life.
"We only protect our people, we have no responsibility over some human." Hailey stated shooting a short glare at where Lillee laid sleeping unaware of what was to come of her.
"She is our people now! She may not be wolf, but she is our pack sister now" I snarled at the three of them making them cower slightly more. None of them said anything so I continued.
"If it wasn't for us, she wouldn't have to go through this. If it wasn't for me." I glanced down at the ground for a moment then turned and ran towards the tree line wanting nothing but to be alone at the moment.
"Stay with her, make sure she is okay." I told them and they all just nodded, understanding in their features. I then turned and took off into the woods, finally I felt free again, I felt the wind rushing through my fur, the whipping of the branches as I sped by them. The wind burned my eyes ,that had turned back to a neon purple color, but I still didn't slow down. I turned and twisted jumped and spun and for once nothing was going wrong.

LILLEE'S POV~

I twisted in my sleep as I felt a sharp pain shoot up my arm starting at the bite mark on my wrist. I opened my eyes and sat up looking around while rubbing my throbbing wrist. Liam was sitting in his wolf form still by the river lapping up water slowly. Hailey was laying near the tree line with her eyes scanning the trees. Louis was sleeping at the base of a tree snoring loudly and Shantal was no where to be seen.
"Where is-" I started but was cut off when a burning erupted in my chest shooting the worst pain through my body I had ever felt. I screamed out in pain at the top of my lungs scaring everyone as they raced to me.
"Lillee are you okay??" Hailey asked me but all I could do to reply was let out another ear piercings scream as I wriggled in pain as yet another burning erupted from my heart. I grabbed at my body trying to stop the pain but I flinched when my arms touched, I was ice cold and getting even colder.
"What do we do???" Louis yelled to be heard over my screams and Hailey and Liam looked around frantically trying to find something to help me with. I felt the pain in my body stop suddenly leaving me feeling warm and relaxed so I sat up and looked at the others. They were still freaking out so I stood and tried to tell them I was okay but it seemed like they couldn't see me or hear me. I looked down at the sleeping bag and my eyes widened when I saw that my body was lieing lifeless on the ground my eyes closed and my mouth parted slightly as if I was sleeping but my chest no longer moved.
"Lillee please come back!" Hailey yelled right as Shantal came running at full speed towards us from the trees.

SHANTAL'S POV~
I heard screams echoing in my ears as I sped back to the others at my fastest speed. Suddenly the screams stopped and I pushed myself to go even faster till I finally burst through the trees and was at last back at Lillee's side. I stared at the others and they looked around frantically afraid of the girl they think is gone beneath us.
"Calm down guys she will be back, this is just her body dieing and shifting into one of them." I stated to the others right as Lillee's eyes shot open and she let out a piercing scream and i watched as her canines shot out of her gums and became fangs.
"Lillee, it's okay, you're okay." I soothed and Lillee dropped back to the ground falling fast asleep quickly. All humans did this after their transformation, it was normal and healthy, for now at least. I let Lillee sleep for 30 minutes and by then everyone else was asleep as well. I got up and walked over to Lillee being loud enough for her to know that this was a friendly approach not an intruder. I shook her awake and she blinked a few times making her eyes concentrate on me.
"Come on, you need blood now." I told her and she simply nodded  her head and got up following after me into the woods were I stripped behind a tree then shifted into my wolf before padding back to her.
"Okay, Lillee I need you to focus, slow your mind and just listen to the trees." I told her and she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before releasing.
"What do you hear?" I asked her as I saw her eyes moving under her closed eye lids.
"Birds, the wind, grass swaying.... deer." She hissed the last word as her eyes shot open. I smiled at her as we both took off towards the strong scent of deer, I was faster than her and got to the deer first but I just took it down then held it there waiting for Lillee to kill it which she did quickly. She drained half the deers body before pulling away and licking the blood off her pink lips with a smirk on her face. We took the carcase back with us and I ate some and Lillee drank a bit more blood before we both went to sleep on either sides of the deer to keep away other predators. I stayed in my wolf form through the night but had my outfit from earlier next to me for the morning.
"Goodnight Lil." I said sleepily letting out a short loud yawn. I looked over and she smiled at me with a twinkle in her eyes I had never seen in a vampire before.
"Goodnight, sister." She said whispering the last part thinking I would't hear but I did. I smiled to myself, I had never trusted someone so easily but she made it easy to trust. With those thoughts I slipped into a peaceful sleep for once in the past year listening to the soft snores from those around me.
