Blue Moon Goddess

Chapter 14.

NIALL'S POV~
I ran dodging trees as everything sped past me in a thick blur. I stopped and took a deep breath trying to untangle the scent of all the wolves, each wolf smelt different and that was really sending my mind in a loop, I could smell that the wolves stayed together for some time then split off and everyone headed in random directions then probably met up again in a new place.
"God dammit!" I hissed out trying to remain calm but failing miserably. I had been searching for this pack of wolves every since they ran off and took my mate with them, but have had no luck in untangling the scents and finding the scent of Shantal. I inhaled deeply again and this time I could smell not only wolf but a hint of vampire mixed with the group, as I smelled more and more I could smell that there was two vampires with the group one I couldn't recognize the smell of so it was a vampire I hadn't met yet, but the other smell was one I had known for my whole existence, one I had grown up with and one I had trusted with my life.
"Harry." I growled into the dark suddenly feeling my anger return at full force. I tried taking deep breathes to calm my nerves but this time it didn't work, this time I felt the anger become more and more powerful as it took over my whole body. I closed my eyes as a sharp pain shot through my chest making me release a loud scream and my legs gave out making me collapse to the ground in a panting sweating mess. The pain in my chest never subsided and instead it grew and spread through my whole body, I felt my legs start going numb as did my arms, I opened my eyes and looked up into the darkening sky. All at once a loud cracking sound erupted in my ears and drowned out all other sounds in the forest. I screamed but the sound didn't seem to reach my ears over the insane breaking noise that was already in my head. I shut my eyes again and held my breath until at last the pain in my body stopped and the sound of animals in the trees was once again heard. This time when I opened my eyes everything seemed closer, and clearer. When I stood up again and looked down I was no longer met with two shoed feet, this time I was met with four padded and black furred paws.

SHANTAL'S POV~
I awoke the next morning and once again I was the only one awake. I took a quick trip to the river and collected more water before returning to the camp. I grabbed everything that had been laid out the night before and packed it all up again, the group was not gonna be happy that we had to go on our way again but I felt Niall getting closer.
"Are we leaving again?" I heard a voice ask from behind me making me jump slightly and turn around to look at them.
"Yes, we need to find some place far away and safe." I stated once my heart had went back to it's normal pace. I saw the look on Liam's face saying that he understood, and he quickly turned and grabbed his bag then began waking everyone else and telling them to gather their own things. Once everyone was up and everything was packed and ready to go we started moving on away from our camp and back into the dense trees.
"Shantal i'm hungry." Lillee stated from behind me and I heard a chorus of yeahs from everyone else.
"I know me to." I stated before I stopped walking making everyone else stop too. I took my bag off my back and sat down getting some weird looks from the group but they followed my lead and sat down as well. I closed my eyes and focused on the trees, I inhaled deeply and smelt all the small animals in the forest, I listened careful and could hear all the little noises from high up in the trees as squirrels and other small rodents scurried around from tree to tree gathering food. My eyes shot open when I heard what I was waiting for.
"Who has hunted more than once before?" I asked everyone and no one raised their hand except Harry, of course he was the one I was gonna be stuck hunting with.
"Harry come with me, everyone else stay here, and I want all of you to shift, it will be safer." I stated and everyone immediately started undressing besides Lillee and Harry of course. I undressed as well and shifted quickly into my wolf before looking up to see everyone else as wolves as well. I can say we all have gotten very comfortable together since now we no longer go hide behind trees to change we just strip right in front of everyone.
"Okay everyone we will be back, let's go Harry." I stated and started walking without turning back around instead I just listened to make sure Harry was following behind me.
"So you all just drop your clothes like that all the time?" Harry asked after we had walked for about 10 minutes in silence.
"Yeah we do, there is no point in wasting time to go find a secret place to do it." I stated keeping my voice down so we didn't frighten the prey.
"Wow if only Lillee was a wolf then." He stated with a smirk on his face making anger boil in the pit of my stomach. I turned on him and snarled loudly feeling my eyes change from blue to red again.
"I swear to the Moon Goddess if you hurt that innocent girl I will personally rip your dumb ass to fucking shreds!!" I growled loudly making the smirk drop from his face and his eyes widened in horror. I was about to continue but I stopped when I heard the sound of hooves hitting the ground quickly as they took off in the opposite direction being spooked by the loud growl that I had directed at Harry. I turned on my heels and sped away with Harry running quickly behind me, I ran until I saw the large doe again and at that moment I sped up even more. I focused on speed and luckily my pace grew faster until I w as able to leap and land right on the deer, I sunk my teeth into the doe's neck and bite down until the body stopped moving under me. I let go of the does neck and looked up breathing heavily from the long distance run at that high of a speed. Harry came and sat by me breathing deeply as well and he tried to speak but the words refused to come out. I got up and grabbed the carcass and started dragging it back and I heard Harry get up and slowly start following me again. Honestly he wasn't needed for this hunt he mainly only got in the way and made me mad. Harry stayed silent the whole way back and I didn't even try to speak since I was dragging the prey back to camp by myself.
"Damn nice catch." Louis stated when I emerged back into few of the others. Everyone crowded around and Hailey picked up the other end of the deer and helped me bring it to the middle of the small area. I sat down and relaxed till my breathing went normal again and my lungs didn't hurt anymore. I let Harry and Lillee eat first since they only needed the blood, when they had sucked most of the blood from the body they moved away and the rest of us dove in eating and snapping at each other every now and again when someones muzzle got in the way of us eating, it was a normal thing for a pack to do. I let everyone sleep for the night after the food was gone and that was something my body gladly let in and I I fell asleep almost immediately after laying down, even when I feel asleep this fast I was still last to be asleep since I didn't even lay down till I heard everyone snoring softly. As I laid on the grass and my head hit the small bundle of clothes I was using as a pillow sleep over took my body and dragged me away from reality and into a not so peaceful sleep.
DREAMISH THING (Everything that happens in the dream is really happening she is not just dreaming it all.) ~
I opened my eyes and I grimaced at the familiar field surrounding my sprawled out body. I sat up and rubbed my eyes till the tiredness left them and everything was clear around me. I got up and walked around looking for any sign of someone since there was usually a dead family member or something whenever I ended up here. As I searched the whole place I didn't find anyone but I got the strange sensation of being watched, a feeling I was growing more and more used to having.
"It's nice to see you again Princess." A high pitched voice spoke from behind me when I was looking around trees to find someone. I turned and a smile lit up my face at the familiar black eyes and mother like smile that graced the woman's beautiful face.
"Moon Goddess." I said unable to hid my smile as tears brimmed my eyes and I ran towards her and she opened her arms widely waiting for the embrace. I ran straight into her arms and my own arms tightened around her abdomen and I buried my face into the smooth white material of her silk gown.
"You must stop calling me that darling." She said after I pulled away from her and although she sounded serious there was still a bright smile on her face showing off her dazzling white teeth.
"What shall I call you then?" I asked letting her grab my hand and drag me away from the tree line and in the center of the field where she tugged my hand as she sat down and I followed her lead sitting on the grass and crossing my legs.
"You could call me what I am." She stated looking down at the grass and as she tugged a few pieces of the green material out of the tough dirt. I sent her a confused look instead of saying anything since I couldn't really think of anything to say to that, all I knew was that she was the Moon Goddess but she told me not to call her that.
"You can call me, mother." She said looking up and staring into my blue eyes with her pure black ones.
"But you are not my mother, my mother is dead." I stated my voice cracking when I said the last word of that sentence. The word "dead" has always sent a cold shiver down my spine and I had always hated it, even when I was young.
"Darling I need to tell you a story about what happened the night you were born." Goddess said looking from the ground back up to me as tears brimmed her eyes and cascaded down her pale cheeks and stopped at her chin before dropping down to the silky material that covered her body. All I did was nod at her as a sign for her to continue and tell me what she needed to.
"When I was young, just about your age actually, I met a young man and he spoke to me like no one else ever had. He was kind and loving towards me, he cared only about what I thought and dis-obeyed his parents to come see me. He was the only person on earth that knew of my status as Moon Goddess, and he didn't care because he loved me. There was only one problem though, he was mortal, not fully mortal like a human, but half mortal, he was a wolf-blood. I knew we weren't supposed to be together but I couldn't help it, I loved him. One night we did something never before done, we made love, and do to my status I was impregnated days later. I cared for the child while she was in my womb but once she was born I had to get rid of her, if she stayed with me then not only would her father be killed but she would have been killed as well. As a mother I couldn't let my only child be killed, so I sent her away to live with a young female wolf that couldn't have her own cubs. We were unsure of what the child would become but I was relieved when the child turned into a cub instead of a human, from that day on the young female was to take care of the cub and raise her. I had to give up the man I loved as well to save my child, the young female wolf named Stardust, then became mated with the king. From then on the child was known as Stardust's child and as the princess. When Stardust was killed the princess was taken back to the castle, you know the story from there, you lived it after all." The Goddess told me part of her story and it felt as if I didn't breath the whole time. Basically the goddess had just told me that my mother was not really my mother, I was born from a goddess and a wolf, not bestowed with great powers as a child, but born with them.
"So you are-" I stopped and looked away from her trying to wrap my brain around everything.
"I'm your mother, your real mother." She finished for me and took my  hand in hers, I looked back and suddenly her face was no longer bright and smiling but dull and worry some. I felt as if something was bothering her and it didn't seem to be able me and her, and to be honest something was bothering me as well, I felt as if we were being watched, as if it was no longer just me and my mother.
"Do you feel like-" She cut me off when she abruptly stood up and stood right in front of me almost in a protective stance.
"M-mother what is it?" I asked unsure if I should call her mother so soon after finding out about her but in a way it felt good to say it.
"It's your mate." She growled sending a shiver of fright down my body and I stood up quickly too and was next to my mother right away feeling my eyes turn red and my canines grew larger but my body stayed human. There we stood both of us looking frantically at the tree line, my eyes red my mothers black, what a sight to see.
"At last I have found a way to get to you my beautiful princess." I heard a deep voice say almost in a laughing way from close in the tree lines.
"Go away Niall, I am not your princess!" I yelled at him feeling my eyes burning and this time I felt not only my pupils change but my entire eye turn red, my eyes resembled my mothers, no white to be seen.
"Oh honey, but you are." He stated still not making himself seen only making himself heard to us.
"You are a vampire, I could never love someone as monstrous as you!" I growled feeling the scar on my shoulder start burning where Niall had marked me. I ignored the feeling and stayed focused on the trees as did my mother. There was silence for a moment before I saw large blue eyes walking away from the trees,what scared me though was that they no longer belonged to a vampires body, there stood Niall, as a big black wolf.
"Shantal go, you need to wake up, get the others and run, don't stop until you get to saftey." My mother told me before stepping in front of me and letting out a menacing growl at Niall. Before I knew it Niall was speeding towards us and my mother was shaking me making everything start to get fuzzy, the trees blurred, the grass disappeared. The last thing I saw before I woke up was Niall's bright eyes as a single tear slipped down his muzzle as he watched me vanish before him.
