SHANTAL'S POV~
The soft sound of morning birds danced into my mind breaking my sleep barrier and forcing my mind to wake up again. I turned and felt around the area next to me finding it empty and cold from the lack of a body there. My eyes fluttered open as a soft yawn escaped my lips and sent a shutter of goose bumps down my spine. I sat up and crossed my legs before stretching my body letting my bones crack to life. I rubbed my eyes lazily before standing up and making my way to the bathroom to take a hot shower. As I was showering and my body was wakeing up again my mind also came back to life and it starting to race with last nights events. I finished rinsing down before stepping out and tugging a towel tightly around my frail frame.
"Niall?" I questioned into the room and waited for a response only to get silence in return. I tugged on my casual clothes since I had some training I was supposed to do today then I headed out of the building and towards the large grassy area filled with wolves locked in combat. Niall was probably out for a walk or something, maybe he got called into training as well.
"Princess." I heard a deep voice call from the middle of the fighting grounds making my head snap up to the combat avoiding the bunches of people I made my way to him.
"Demetri." I smiled once I could see him clearly. I was glad that he was here to help me since I already knew him. Demetri was one of my fathers best guards before the castle was taken over and I was lucky enough to notice him the first day we had arrived here at the camp.
"Its very nice to see you again young princess, I was worried sick about you in the time you were gone." He stated before tugging me into a brief hug since it was against the rules for guards, or lower class, to touch a royal.
"Well I am fine and I would love to catch up but as far as I know I am here to train in combat." I stated with a smirk as his face lit up at the mention of training me.
"Ah yes, we start with simple moves such as take downs, shift and we will begin." He told me and I obeyed him and shifted into my large blue wolf, when I looked back up Demetri was standing in front of me as a big brown wolf with dazzling green eyes.
"I need you to take me down, hold nothing back." Demetri told me and I nodded my large head once before racing towards him in an attempt to take out his feet but instead he dipped his head down instinctively and flipped me over to my back then placing a single heavy paw on my chest
"And I won't hold anything back either." Demetri spoke in a hushed but cocky tone before he lifted his paw and let me stand back up to my own four feet.
"I never had proper training okay?" I mumbled in a child like manner acting way younger than 18. He left out a gruff chuckle before his face went serious again as he gave me the look to try again.
"Dont be so hasty this time, picture something that makes you mad, think about someone you care about being hurt." Demetri told me and I responded with a simple nod. I cracked my neck and lunged forward but stopped at the last minute making him jump sideways where I could flip him around and take him over. I put him on his back and rested two paws on his chest since he was much stronger than me.
"Very good now next time I am going to do something very mean." He stated with a smirk on his lips making me to feel slightly nervous as to what he was gonna say.
"I am going to taunt you, say things that may hurt you because enemy's are likely to say anything to hurt and distract you." He told me as he stood up and backed away from me getting in a defensive stance once again.
