Klaus's POV

Chapter 10: Showing

I open the door, planning on my lovely girl being the first face I see.

I open her bedroom door. I crouch next to the bed. I kiss her cheek.

She mumbles in her sleep. "Good morning." I whisper.

I touch her hair, I kiss her lips, her cheeks.

"You're late." She whispers. "I know." I grin. Her eyes sparkle when she opens them, she holds me close to her as if I might leave."

"I love you, Klaus."

My voice is low and dark, I whisper in her ear. "I love you."

Lacey's POV

A huge weight is lifted from my chest. No more interruptions, no more questions or mistakes. Everything always ends okay. I love him, and I will do anything for him. Yeah we fight, but we always find each other again. We never stray too far from each other in fear of losing the other. We're like two broken halves. We fight to stay together, I'm never whole unless I'm in his arms.

Our hands were intertwined, we lay on the bed. I'm silent, my head is on his chest. Just lying in each other's arms. And neither one of us complains.

He has my heart. He has my everything. I hope he knows. Without all of this, all of him, I don't know where I would be. I don't want to think. Whoever I was before, is gone. And that's the best thing that could happen.

A year ago, I was in Stefan's alcohol cellar, just praying I could even see him again. A year ago I was too stubborn to stay away from Klaus, when he told me he didn't love me, when he told me he never wanted to see me. I didn't listen. I never listen.

"You're showing." He grins, looking at my stomach. "Are you excited?" I ask, my smile widening.

He only kisses me, over and over and over. And that's enough of an answer for me.
