Lacey's POV

Chapter 9: Two Homes

I'm wrapped in a blanket on the couch, the fire blazes hot just like Kol promised, and a mug of hot is in my hands. Kol sits across from me in the armchair, ready to fulfill his word. "So." I said. "What's with this Klaus buisness."

"About that. I can't tell you."

"What? But - "

"But I can tell you that it has to do with Marcel, and you can't know about because you already have a target on your back, and information is only going to make it bigger."

"Kol, you don't understand. I can take care of myself, I don't need anyone protecting me."

"Lacey, but you do. The things he would do if he just could get a hold of your pretty little hands... Unspeakable things, darling. Things we don't  speak of. He would tear you to shreds at best and make us watch. You trust my brother?"

"Yes. Of course."

"He's going to do what he has to in order to keep you safe. That's where Elijah is. Klaus trusts me with baby-sitting and that about covers it, but I'll do whatever it takes to keep you out of harm. You may have a home with those Salvatore brothers, but you have a home with us Mikaelsons too. My brother loves you. I've seen it. He's never looks at anyone the way he looks at you. He doesn't know love. But he loves you. That I'm sure of."

Yep. It's tiny again. But when you're editing quickly bc you want to finish in order to write a kick-off spinoff, you get lazy.
