"Is Felisha still sick?" I asked Onika and Danise.
We were walking to Naomi's house to pick her up and then we would continue on to school. Liam was waiting at there at the school already. I'd received his text just before I started walking, which meant he probably got a ride there. Strange. His mom must've been in a happy mood. Maybe that wasn't not a good thing."No, but it's too rainy today for her to walk so her mom dropped her off," Danise answered. "At least that's what her mom said."
Danise knows Felisha better than anyone here. If anything, Felisha would tell her what's going on. They were friends since Kindergarten, which is really impressive considering that I'd only just met all of my friends that I have now in Junior High School. Well, except for Liam. He was the only exception. I met him Freshman year. Yup, I was a Sophomore. The year was half-way done.
Naomi gasped. "Damn. I forgot to do my homework. Morgan?"
I shrugged."What class?"
"Biology."
I ticked my tongue. "Sorry. I bailed that class."
"Danise?" Naomi asked hopefully.
Danise rolled her eyes. "Yeah. You both can copy from mine at lunch I guess."
"That's why I love you, Dani!" I said, sideways hugging her.
"Yeah, yeah," Danise shrugged me off.
Before we even entered school property, Liam grabbed me away from my friends. I looked back at them apologetically and whispered, "What the hell?" to Liam.
"What did you expect me to do?" he asked innocently.
"Not that!"
"Well I'm sorry," he replied sarcastically.
I shook my head in annoyance.
"Yesterday when our parents were talking-" he started before being interrupted by a perky girl at our school named Hannah.
"Since when were you two back together?" she asked in interest.
Liam and I looked at each other for just a split second before returning our attention back to Hannah. Wow, rumor spreads fast at this school.
"What's it to you?" I said, crossing my arms.
Liam raised an eyebrow to me.
Hannah smiled evilly. "Well it's just that ever since Liam dumped you cold and flat...everyone's been talking about how you just can't admit it to yourself."
"What?" I shrieked.
"Pl-ease. You know you'll never be able to get over him," she stated with a cruel smile.
My jaw dropped and Liam pulled me away from her. I will hit her so hard-
"Calm down," Liam murmured.
I looked him up and down, my hands resting on my hips.
He burst out laughing. I couldn't believe him. He looked like he was about to fall over. I smiled even though I was angry at him. Hannah had left to gossip to some girls. Wow those populars were good at making you worked up about nothing.
"Did you really just give me the body-check?" he gasped, still laughing.
I shoved Liam hard, even though it was a playful gesture. He wouldn't stop so I began laughing too. I'm pretty sure my friends had left inside because the bell would ring soon. I think.
We must've looked like such dorks over here but eventually we stopped, finding everyone staring at us. I was so lost in the moment that I rested my head on his shoulder and wrapped my hands around his arm as we walked inside.
It was probably fifth period in biology class when I realized what I was doing. Yet again, I found myself falling. So when Liam sat next to me, I turned away.
"You know you are confusing the hell out of me right now?" he whispered.
I rested my head in my hands, biting the bottom of my palm to stop myself from smiling.
Again...why? And this whole time Liam hadn't even told me what he overheard our parents saying last night.
