Liam's POV:
It's been six days, almost a week and Morgan hasn't come home. I asked 'Mom' and Andrew but they figured she was just at Felisha's and just needed time to think. They were convinced that she'd come home eventually, fresh and new. Like a toy after being broken and taken to a toy factory. But Morgan wasn't a toy. And if she was, she was a fragile one. Stubborn at that.
"Have you seen her at school at least?" my 'mom' asked me.
I was sitting on the couch watching t.v. in the living room. I shrugged. "No."
LeAnn sighed. "She's going through a lot. I understand."
I turned off the t.v. and stared at my mother seriously. She was sitting in my chair.
"I don't."
Mom shrugged. "She's a girl. All she wants right now is to get attention. She's mad. When she realizes that our worlds don't crash and burn without her, she'll be back and realize how dumb the idea was."
One problem with that theory was that my world did crash and burn. Morgan was my girl. Whether or not she was family, she was mine. And now I've lost her to god knows what.
Another two days passed and that's when I decided that it's been way too long. I gave Morgan her time to sort things out, but now she's just being ridiculous. No one knows where she is. And who knows if she's even safe?Getting into my car after school, I drove around the neighborhood. I stopped at some of her friends' house. Onika said that Morgan was probably better off. Whatever that's supposed to mean. And I didn't even bother going to Naomi's house because I knew she'd give the same response or close to it. Danise couldn't give me an answer and Felisha said she honestly wished she knew.
See my luck?
But I had another guess about where she might be.
Driving to the park, I parked in the lot and looked up into the tree. She wasn't there. So I searched around the park. Nowhere. Going back to my car, I began driving home.
