When I woke up to the too bright sunlight, I smiled. Last night wasn't too bad. Although I was going to be late for school if I didn't get up. I raised my head and threw off the blanket. Liam grumbled next to me. My head snapped to the other side of the bed. Sure enough, there was Liam, sound asleep. I bent over him and peered over his shoulder. His eyes were tightly closed.
I smiled evilly. Looking around the room innocently, my attention turned back to Liam. Then? I shoved hard, forcing him to fall off the bed and land on the floor with a thud. He groaned. I crawled to the edge of the bed and rested my head in my hands, smiling at him with mischief.
"What was that for?" he whined, scratching his head.
I had never seen him with his bed-head hair. It was adorable, I had to admit.
"My bed."
His eyes widened with realization. "I-I-uh-"
I snorted, excusing his attempt of an apology.
"What time is it?" he asked.
I shrugged, then fixed the sheets perfectly. Maybe I wouldn't change them this week. They smelled like Liam.
"Where's my phone?"
I grabbed a black iPhone from inside the blanket. "Oh, you mean this?" I asked teasingly.
"Yes," he replied, reaching out his hand.
I winked before running out the room yelling, "Want it? Come and get it!"
I was screaming all the way down the hall as he chased me.
"Come on, Morgan, this isn't funny!"
"It's a little funny," I replied, giggling.
He wrapped a hand around me in attempt to get it out of my hand. I stuffed it in the curve of my stomach. Boy, he really wanted his phone. Shouting out a playful complaint, I raced to the couch and stood up top of it, leaning against the wall.
Liam gave a huge leap and crouched over me. I hid my head under a couch pillow and squealed as he ripped his phone from my hands.
"No, that's mine!" I yelled.
He ignored me and walked to his room, giving me one last happy glance before he shut the door.

Liam and I left the house together. Since we lived down the same street, we could get away with walking to school with each other. We did stop to pick up my friends and they were as curious as ever. In fact, Onika was just buzzing with excitement. But it was Naomi who asked.
"What's been going on between you two?" she asked suspiciously.
Liam stiffened next to me, so I knew I had to be the one to answer.
"Nothing. Absolutely...nothing."
Naomi rolled her eyes and I had to rethink our friendship. Onika looked equally displeased. When we got to the school, I ditched the two drama queens and pulled Felisha and Liam aside.
Liam gave me a questioning look. "Don't say anything," I said to him. He nodded, and left.
I turned to Felisha. She narrowed her eyes and I grinned...a huge grin.
I couldn't help it; I began to rant. "Last night was the best! Sure, his family came over and asked awkward questions, but afterward, I attacked Liam with a pillow and that turned into an epic pillow fight. And then he fell asleep in my bed, and this morning-" I started before being interrupted.
Felisha gasped quietly. "You SLEPT with your brother?!"
I couldn't help the inner gag rising. "Half-brother," I corrected. "And I didn't SLEEP with him. I slept with him." I stumbled. "I-I slept BESIDE him."
A smirk spread across Felisha's face and my smile widened.
"What?"
She shook her head. "Then what happened?"
"Oh," I continued, taking up my awesome story. "This morning I stole his phone."
Wow, it didn't sound as awesome in words as it did when it happened. This must sound so stupid. But Felisha took it.
"Hey, I have to go to class," she said, still smiling. "But meet me at my house after school...after homework."
I nodded.

"WHAD UUUP?" I yelled, throwing my backpack across the floor, having it land on Liam's clean laundry, once neatly folded.
He walked down the hallway and halted, glaring at me. "Hey, I just folded those!"
I smiled. "See this? This is my 'I don't give a crap' face. Memorize it, and memorize it well. 'Cause you're going to see it A LOT!"
He crossed his arms over his chest. "Did you copy that from somewhere?"
I shrugged. "Maybe."
"Pick up the mess, will ya?" he said angrily while I got comfortable on his recliner.
I waved him off. "Yes, Mother."
Once I heard his bedroom door shut, I bolted for the door. But LeAnn was faster.
"Just where do you think you're going?" she scowled.
Shrugging, "Felisha's."
"No, you're not."
A frown crossed my face. "Yes...I am."
LeAnn grinned a fake grin. "You have homework missy."
"No, I finished it all in class."
"Let me check."
She rummaged through my backpack and took things out. Such as my journal, might I add. Then she got into my personal pocket filled with PERSONAL THINGS. She took out the little nick-naks and what not. Like, my mom's necklace.
"Don't touch that!" I said.
At that, she looked up. And right on cue, Liam came out of his room and evaluated the situation. As soon as he figured out what was going on, he took my backpack from LeAnn's hands.
"She did her homework. I helped her," he lied.
I looked at him gratefully as he handed me my backpack. LeAnn rolled her eyes and walked into the kitchen. I should've left then and there. 'Cause I certainly wasn't ready for what I saw next.
