Chapter 6

Sorry for not updating for ages. This chapter is a lot shorter than my other ones because I really wanted to update.

Clary P.O.V
"Well because of what happened with Aline and Jace today, our plan has changed a little. Instead of trying to expose Aline we are giving her payback! Maia the book please. For those of you who don't know, this 'book' is a collection of pranks for every occasion. Alec, Maia, Jace and I have been adding to it for years, and now we finally get to use it on someone who is not one of us!" Izzy says to all of us. It was only meant to be Simon, Maia, Izzy and I here tonight but because of the change of plans we now also have a sulky Jace, Alec and Magnus. Maia hands Izzy the book and she opens it up. I'm eager to see some of the pranks in it. The book has different categories such as: ex's/cheaters, friends, family and more. Izzy flips through the ex's/cheaters section muttering about finding the perfect one. "Yes this one! This is a combination of smaller pranks that we can use to get the perfect prank. These are the ones I think we should do: rip and cut all of her clothes, leaving one embarrassing outfit, replace her shampoo and conditioner with hair dye, I'm thinking blue and green, subtly ruin her makeup, so she still puts it on, disable her car and place several alarm clocks throughout her room all set for different hours." Izzy tells us with an evil grin on her face. We all agree, except Jace who just shrugs. "When are we doing it?" Maia asks. "I don't know, Jace when would be a good time?" Izzy asks Jace. "Well she goes to the gym every Tuesday and Thursday." He said half heartedly. "Actually our homecoming dance is next Friday after the game, so you could do it on Friday, ruin homecoming for her." He told us. "Perfect it's settled, on Thursday night everyone meet here so we can fine tune the plan." Izzy said. Everyone agreed. Everyone begins to head home, but I head over to Jace. "Hey Jace, do you want to start our science project now?" I ask him.

Jace P.O.V
"Sure," I say after a moments hesitation, "I just have to make a few calls first." I start walking over to my room. When I get there I tell Clary to wait there and then get out my phone and dial Kaelie's number. "Hey," I say after she answers "about tonight, I made plans to work on a science project that I forgot about." I tell her, not that I had already made them. "Alright Jace, let me know if you want me to come over another time. Bye." She says and then hangs up. The thing most people don't know about Kaelie is that she's actually really nice. Most people consider to be as bad as Aline but Kaelie is actually a nice person, she just feels like she has to hide it. One time when I went to Taki's she served me and we started talking, we got to know each other quite well. Before I started dating Aline we used to hook up every now and again. While I was dating Aline that stopped and we were just friends, now that I'm single again we can continue it if we need. Typically our hook ups were just to get our minds off things. I take my thoughts away from Kaelie and call my cousin Will. Next week Will, his best friend Jem and girlfriend Tessa are spending the week with us. After that our group will spend a week with him. "Hey Jace, couldn't wait until next week to see me?" He asks me. "Yeah sure, I just thought you would like to know that you were right about Aline." I reply. Will has always hated Aline and told me multiple times that he didn't approve of us. "What happened?" He says, his playful tone disappearing. "Well she cheated on me!" I say "and it wasn't even with a guy! It was with a girl! She's not even into guys! She only dated me to hide her sexuality!" I say, yelling by the end of it. "Good job Jace, you can only get a lesbian!" He says his teasing tone back. "I bet once Tessa mets me she will dump you instantly." I say returning the teasing. "I heard there's a new girl in your little group. Clary was it? Yeah Izzy told me all about her." Will says "yeah what about her, she's just Izzy's best friend." "Oh Izzy implied she was more than that to you." Will says. "Speaking of Clary, she's waiting outside," I reply "for me to get off the phone so we can start our science project. Bye Will." I say and hang up. I open up the door and ask Clary what she's thinking about our project. She says something that makes no sense to me what so ever and we start researching. This project is going to be longer than I thought, great. We spent an hour on our project, occasionally joking around and just talking. It wasn't actually as bad I thought it would be, it's like it's the first night she stayed over and we talked for hours. That was a good night.

Clary P.O.V
We didn't get much of our project done, because we were talking to much, but it was nice. I feel like we could be friends again. "About Aline, is that what you want? Do you want us to ruin homecoming for her?" I ask him. "I don't know, I guess I want her to feel hurt like I did, but I don't know if this how I want to do it. Maybe I just want her to think that I don't care about her, that I never did, that she meant as little to me as I meant to her. Although the pranks would be a good idea, I think that shows that she hurt me." He says. "Maybe we could do something that she won't think is you, something that she will think was just an accident. Also I think to show her you are over her you could date someone else." I suggest. "Ok but who would I date? Do I actually have to like them or will it just be fake, and will they know it's fake?" He asks me. "I think if there is no one you are truly interested in then it should be fake, also the girl would have to know it's fake." I say, if the girl didn't know it was fake it would make him just as bad as Aline. "Ok so who would I date? I could date Kaelie, everyone knows we have a complicated history. But everyone hates Kaelie and they would probably assume it's just me becoming a player again, and then it would seem like I'm not over Aline. Who else is there though? All the other girls at our school would also make them think I'm just a player again. It should be someone I spend a lot of time with and that people either don't know a lot about or like them." He says "I could do it, you know if you want me to." I offer, after a minute when he doesn't reply I say "or not you know, I'm sure there are plenty of girls who would be better at then me. Sorry I have to go, bye." I say and leave, stopping to yell bye to Izzy on the way.

Jace P.O.V
"I could do it, you know if you want me to." She says, why would Clary offer to do that for me, she owes me nothing and it's not like I deserve it, I can hardly even be nice to her. But it might be nice to date her, I think. My thoughts going back to that kiss we shared during our truth or dare game a week ago, all I wanted to do then was hold her and kiss her and never let her go. "Or not you know, I'm sure there are plenty of girls who would be better at it than me. Sorry I have to go, bye." She says and leaves me "Clary wait!" I call out to her but she is already gone.
