Chapter 4

Hey guys sorry I haven't updated for a while I have been away. Also I'm so excited about season two of shadowhunters! hope you enjoy the chapter.

Jace's P.O.V
"Jace hold this." My girlfriend Aline demands while handing me the millionth item of clothing she wants to try on - just in this shop, I am already holding five full bags of clothing. I take the extremely short blue dress from her and head to the change rooms. While Aline tries on the dresses and I tell her which ones she should buy I admire her super hot body. When Aline and I first started dating it was only because she was the captain of the cheerleading squad and I'm the quater back so everyone thought we had to be together. But through our year and a half of dating I have started to really like her and not just for body, like I did with the other girls before her. I really like her personality, to most people she seems like your average popular cheerleader but she is actually a really nice and cares deeply about her friends. And something I never thought I would be thinking at the start of our relationship, I can actually picture having a future with her. Once Aline finishes trying on all of the dresses we head to our favourite place for lunch, Takis.

Clary's P.O.V
Simon and I are out shopping for some new manga's and animés, soon we get all the ones we want and we start looking around for somewhere to eat. We pass a few places that look nice but eventually settle for a place called Takis. We head in and a waitress, who's name I can tell from her badge is Kailie, shows us to a table. While we are walking towards our table I hear "hey red." I turn around to see none other than Jace Lightwood with his girlfriend Aline. "Hi Goldilocks." I reply. "Clary this is my girlfriend Aline, Aline this is my sisters best friend Clary." Jace tells us. Seeing him here with Aline makes me want to be sick, she's so fake around him. "Hi Aline" I say. "Hey, you guys are new here aren't you?" She asks. "Yeah, well we better go to our table, I'm starving. It was nice meeting you Aline." I say and start walking off. I turn back around to check Simon is coming and see Aline glaring at me, what's her problem. Simon and I sit down and look at the menu. After taking a look I say "I think I'll get the coconut pancakes." "Sounds good I'll get them too." Simon says. Then Kaelie walks over and we order two lemonades and two coconut pancakes. The meal was delicious but the fact that I kept looking up at Aline and Jace kind of ruined it for me. Whenever Aline made eye contact with me -which was often- she would glare. I also saw a lot going on that I was not so comfortable with seeing. I heard my phone ring, Izzy had texted me.
Izzy: Hey Simon said you two were out shopping. Want to go see a movie and do some shopping as well?
Clary: Sure sounds good, what movie?
Izzy: Scorch Trials, it's the second in the Maze Runner series. Meet me at the cinemas in 20. Oh and Maia is coming and I am seeing if Jordan, Mags, Jace and Alec are available so bring Simon.
Clary: Sounds good see you soon.
"We're going to see The Scorch Trial with Izzy, Maia and anyone else who can come." I say to Simon.
"Ok lets go." He replied. While Simon went and paid I walked over to Jace's table.
"Hey Goldilocks are you coming to the movies or you with staying Aline?" I say and throw a venomous stare in her direction.

Jace's P.O.V
"Yeah I'm going. Wait I don't want to go if rat face is going." I reply, only half joking. What was Clarys' problem glaring at Aline like that, what had Aline done to her. Clary punches me in the arm for calling Simon rat face, but I'm pretty sure it inflicted more pain on her that it did me.
"Come on let's go." Clary says.
"You guys go, I'll catch up in a minute." I reply. Clary walks out with Simon and I go to pay for Aline and I's meal. We walk out of Taki's and I give her a quick kiss goodbye.
"Bye beautiful." I say.
"See you handsome." She replies. I really like Aline but I'm not sure how she feels about me. When we first started dating I would have said it was for the same reason I started dating her, I hope it's not now but with Aline you can't really tell. At least she hasn't ended our relationship. I walk over to Clary and we head towards the cinemas. Going to the movies with Izzy is different that going with most people. First Izzy gets to choose we all sit. Second we never go to the normal cinema, it's either gold class or one where you don't sit in normal chairs, like beanbags. Third she gets to choose all of the food we get and we all share it around. Fourth after the movie the boys have to leave while the girls shop. Its been this way since our first movie trip where Izzy decided to take charge, since then it has been tradition. So Izzy chooses out the usual food which includes: at least two packs of pods, skittles, m&m's and boosts, two large blocks of marvellous creations, four extra large popcorns, two bags of chips - one original and one salt and vinegar, four large drinks (popcorn and  drinks are 1 between two) and a tub of salted caramel ice cream with plastic spoons. Yeah she goes a bit of the top. Anyway once all the food and tickets have been bought we head to cinema 2: the cinema where you sit on beanbags. "Okay everyone, seating arrangements. We have Jordan, Maia, Simon, me, Clary, Jace, Magnus and Alec." Izzy tells us. Great, Izzy always sits us in couples and seeing as Aline isn't here I'm seated with Clary. I like Clary and all but I'm getting the feeling that there is a reason she didn't just seat us separately. I push the thought from my mind and we take our seats up the back. After a minute everyone is talking except Clary and I. "So, have you seen Maze Runner?" I ask her. "Of course who hasn't? And I've read the books. I love Newt he's my favourite!" She replies enthusiastically. I laugh a little at her enthusiasm and reply "I have read the first book but I haven't seen the movie. The only reason I read it was because Izzy made me, but it was actually pretty good." "The movie is horrible anyway, they completely ruined it!" Clary says. I just laugh again and I can see a slight blush forming on her face as the lights start to dim and the previews begin. I think back to when I had seen Clary glaring at Aline at Taki's today and I decide to ask her about it. "Hey Clary today at Taki's why were you glaring at Aline?" "Jace you'd think you would know, I'm just so jealous of her, getting to be with you and all." She said sarcastically, glaring at me even more than she had glared at Aline. "Clary seriously she is my girlfriend and you're becoming a really good friend of mine and so I want to know what you're problem with her is." I plead. "Oh Jace it's not my problem with her, it's her problem with me. Of course I can't expect you to understand with your girlfriend  being so perfect and all. Throughout my entire lunch I couldn't glance up without her glaring at me, I now understand the phrase 'if looks could kill'." She spits.
