Chapter 3

The rest of the week had been just like the beginning I went to class, sat with Izzy and Maia at lunch. Got annoyed by and annoyed Jace, then went home and hung out with Simon. Now it's Friday, the night of the football game and Maia and I are going Izzy's place to get ready and then staying the night there after the game and party. It's lunch time and we are all talking about the big game tonight, turns out there playing last years runners up team - of course they were the champions - but they are there biggest threat and they need to win again. After lunch I had art. I finished my sketch of Simon last lesson, but everyone else was still, working on there's so the teacher said I could do another sketch. I'm not sure who I'm sketching yet, maybe I'm not sketching anyone. Maia and I talk about tonight, apparently it's tradition to leave the party early and go back to Izzy's and play truth or dare with Jace, Alec and Jordan. This year obviously I will be coming too, as well as Simon and Magnus. The bell goes to signal the end of the lesson and looking down at my sketch and I see it's actually starting to resemble Jace.

I go to my locker and grab my stuff and then head out to the parking lot to try and find Izzy.
"Clary over here!" Izzy yells and I walk over. When we get to her house I have to stop and stare for a minute. It's massive and beautiful and well anyone's dream house.
"Is this place seriously yours Izzy?" I ask still amazed by the house. How could anyone afford anything like this!
"Yes Clary, come on we have to get ready!" She says rushing me inside. When we reach her room I am once again amazed she has a walk in robe so big my bedroom would fit in it. She also has an ensuite and a massive room. In the corner she has a vanity table covered with heaps of makeup, nail polish and hair products - basically everything a girl could ever want.
"Clary come try this on" she tells me shoving a handful of black and green clothes and pushing me towards the ensuite. Once I have the clothes on I see that I am wearing an emerald green half top that brings out my eyes with black jeans and black wedges. When I walk out I see Izzy and Maia are also dressed. Maia is wearing jeans, high heel boots and a leather jacket. Izzy has got a black lace top and a mid thigh length skirt with black heels.
"Yep that works" Izzy says after checking my outfit. "So Clary any of the guys at school caught your eye?" She asks turning to the vanity table to do her makeup. Instantly Jace pops into my mind, but I brush it off. It was probably just because I could hear him singing a minute ago.
I think about it for a minute and when no one else comes to mind I reply "No"
"Not even my idiotic brother?" She asks with a laugh "everyone falls for him." She adds with a sarcastic laugh and an eye roll. "No way" I say also laughing. "What about you Izzy are you like anyone?" I think about Simon and see my chance.
"No" she says after a moments hesitation, but unlike my hesitation it's more like she's hiding something.
"You and Simon seem to be getting along quite well." I say with a laugh and a wink.
"Oh my god Clary he's just a friend!" She says but I can see a slight blush forming on her face.
"Your lying I can see you blushing!" I tell her. She just blushes more and shakes her head. "Izzy" I push. "Alright fine, I like him but he will never like me back!" I grin, Now we're getting somewhere! Izzy finishes her makeup and pulls me down to get started on mine.  She applies mascara, eyeliner, lipgloss and many other things that I have no idea what they are called. When she is done I don't look too different, the only thing you can tell I am wearing is mascara and eyeliner, but it enhances my features so much. Then she starts on my hair, after a bit of playing around with it she decides to just straighten it. Maia did her own makeup and hair while Izzy was doing mine. We are ready to leave and when I look at the clock I realise we were supposed to leave five minutes ago. We walk down the stairs into the kitchen/dining area and Izzy yells out to Alec and Jace to hurry up. "Coming" they yell in unison. Jace looks even hotter in his uniform I think as they come down the stairs. Crap I can't think like that it's Jace, Izzy's annoying brother! When we get to the game we see Simon standing there awkwardly and run over to him. "Hey Simon!" I say "hey Clary you look...... different." He replies. "Come on guys lets go get seats while we can." Just then Jordan and Magnus show up and we walk over to the seats. Izzy sits with Simon and they talk for the whole game completely unaware of the others feelings for them. Maia watches Jordan the whole time and only talks when it's something to do with how cute or amazing Jordan is. So that leaves me with Magnus who I am beginning to notice is spending a lot of time with his eyes on a certain black haired, blue eyed Lightwood! So I basically sit there silently, not really understanding what is going on. The game is tied with a minute to go. Alec gets the ball in the oppositions half and kicks it down to Jace who brings the ball up the rest of the field, goes for the shot and scores! WE WON!!!! Our side of the stand goes crazy, yelling and screaming. Once it finally calms down we go congratulate Jace, Alec and Jordan and start heading to the party. Once we get there I decide I have to tell Maia about Simon and Izzy so we can get them together. We went in seperate cars so I start walking around looking for her. When I finally find her is in a corner making out with Jordan (again).
*cough* *cough* both of there heads pop and Maia starts blushing.
"Maia I need to talk to you!" I say and pull her away.
"Ok you know how Izzy likes Simon?" I ask and she nods "well the other day I was talking to Simon and he likes her too!" I say. "So I need to get them together and seeing as I have no experience with this stuff I need your help!"
"Ok I have a plan" she says and after explaining the plan to me she walks off.
Apparently it's tradition to leave the party early for our own little gathering back at Izzy's so I will only be here for another hour and I am already counting down. Parties aren't really my scene and with all my friends with other people I am left standing awkwardly by my self. Then I see someone walking towards me, I tilt my head up to see Jace. "Hey red, like what you see?" He asks with a wink. He is so annoying! "No, but I bet you do!" Gesturing to myself. He looks at me for a moment like he is just realising that what I am wearing is a bit different from my usual clothes. "Okay you can stop staring now." I say with a laugh and he just goes slightly red and says he is going to find Aline. I almost forgot about her, I have never even spoken to her and she hasn't done anything to me, so why do I hate her so much? I awkwardly stand around for a bit longer until Izzy calls me over and we head back to her place. Once we have all arrived we head down to the living room to begin. "Ok because we have some new people here I'm going to explain how we play truth or dare" Izzy says. "If you don't do your dare you have to take a shot. You can't chose truth it's all dares. Oh and you can only have a maximum of five shots to get out of it after that you have to do your dare. I'll start. Maia I dare you to sit on Jace's lap for the next 5 rounds"
"As her boyfriend I object to this!" Jordan says. Maia reaches for her first of the five shot glasses and drinks it. "Magnus I dare you to confess your undying love to your crush over the phone." Maia says. Magnus walks to corner of the room and gets out his phone. All of a sudden Jace's phone starts ringing. "I knew you loved me Magnus but I'm sorry, I'm taken and straight." Jace says. Then Magnus whispers something into the phone so we can't hear and Jace hands the phone over to Alec. Then louder so we can hear Magnus says "Alexander I would like to confess my undying love for you." Alec just sits there blushing for minute before he got up walked over to Magnus grabbed his shirt and pulled him in for a kiss. After another kiss they come and join us with there hands linked. "Jace I dare you to touch the duck!" Magnus yells while Alec throws a rubber duck right next to his shot glass so he can't even reach one. Jace jumps up squealing and yelling at Alec about how he shouldn't have told Magnus and shouldn't have thrown the duck. "Save me somebody please!" He yells. I'm in the middle of a massive laughing fit but I manage to pick up the duck and hand Jace a shot glass. Then while Jace is having his shot I throw the duck at him and we all start laughing again. It takes Jace a minute to realise what I threw and then he starts squeaking again. "I trusted you!" He yells "and now you're going to pay!" He adds as he lunges towards me and begins tickling me without mercy. "Stop! Stop!" I scream panting for air. Eventually he stops. "Clary I dare you sing instead of talk until your next go." Jace says. "Ok, Izzy I dare you to come with me to your room and then answer all my questions honestly for five minutes." I sing. "Alright and clary your singing sounds like a dying cat" she says while laughing at my voice. Izzy and I go up to her room and the plan Maia and I made is in action. "Do I have to keep singing while we are here?" I sing "no but only because it's more annoying for me than you." Izzy replies. Once we get to her room I set up the timer and go onto the camera on my phone so I can video it without her noticing. "Ok what's your favourite animal?" I ask "cheetah" she replies. "Ok what do you want to do as a job?" I ask "I want to be a model" she tells me. "Cool" I reply "describe your dream guy." "Shaggy brown hair, brown eyes, glasses, kind of nerdy you know." She says. "So Simon" I say with a laugh. "Yeah, but I'm never going to have a chance with him." She says sadly. "Why wouldn't you have a chance with him?" I ask. "I don't know he just wouldn't go for someone like me, he would date someone a bit nerdy but still cool, like you." She answers. "Why do you like him?" I say. "Well.. I like spending time with him. He makes me laugh. And I like the way he smiles. You know, one side of his mouth goes up before the other one - well, you live with him. You must have noticed." She says. "Not really" I confess. Then the timer goes off and we head back downstairs. We sit down and Izzy says "Alec I dare you to pretend to be a girl for the rest of the game and dress up in my clothes." Alec walks off and we all talk for five minutes before Alec starts stumbling back  down wearing a black lace dress and high heels. Everyone laughs at his appearance and he just growls and says "Maia I dare you stand out on the street and kiss the next person who walks by." Maia walks outside and we all crowd around the window. After a couple of minutes we see Jonathan walk past - Jonathan is a boy who goes to our school and has had a crush on Maia forever. Maia looks back at us angrily and runs up to Jonathan, grabs his collar and his pulls him in for a very quick kiss and starts to run back. Jonathan just stands there looking surprised and then calls out "Maia wait!" And then runs up to her turns her around and starts to forcefully kiss her, he doesn't seem to notice her struggling. Jordan runs out and pulls Jonathan off Maia and goes to punch Jonathan, Maia pulls his arm back "it's alright Jordan. Jonathan I'm really sorry but Alec just dared me to kiss the next person who walked past and that just happened to be you. I'm really sorry, goodbye." Maia says pulling Jordan and herself inside. While all of this is going on I'm sending the video of Izzy to Maia. When they get back inside Jordan is quite mad that Maia kissed Jonathan but soon settles down after some reassurance from her. "Simon I dare you to come and watch this video and then spend five minutes alone with Izzy." Izzy and Simon share a worried glance. Simon follows Maia into a room and I'm assuming Simon watches the video. When they walk back out Simon looks extremely shocked and quite happy. Then Simon goes back into the room with Izzy. I don't know what happened in there - even though we were all crowding around the door - but when they walked back out they were holding hands and blushing so I'm guessing our plan worked! "Hah I knew you two would end up together" I sing as it still hasn't been my turn. Once we all sit back down Izzy whispers something in Simons ear while glancing at me, "I dare Clary to kiss Jace." Simons says with a devilish look on his face. I think about it for a minute, I can back out or I can kiss him. I don't want them to think I'm a coward but I also don't want to kiss Jace. Well maybe kissing him wouldn't be so bad like he's pretty hot and I guess he wouldn't be a bad kisser, but he's so arrogant and annoying. I get up and walk over to him. For
minute we both just stood there staring into each other's eyes and then slowly he leaned in. He leaned in until our faces were just millimetres apart, then I closed the gap between us and kissed him. Yep I was right he's a good kisser. By the time the kiss ended I realised it was a little long for a kiss in a game of dare, I start blushing a little. "Wow Reds getting even redder, I didn't even know that was possible!" He said with a laugh and sat back down. Stupid, arrogant, jerk! "Ok guys well that was an interesting game," Izzy says smiling with a little laugh in her voice, "but I think it's time to call it a night." We say goodbyes to Simon, Jordan and Magnus and then get set up to watch a movie. We are watching Bridget Jones' baby, it's really funny. By the end of the movie Jace and I are the only ones awake. "Hey red, your not a bad kisser want to do it again?' He asks me, a teasing look on his face. "In your dreams!" I say back. He mocks looking offended and then comes starts running towards hands outstretched. I wonder what he is planning on doing when he reaches me and starts tickling with with no mercy. I start laughing and screaming and kicking and punching, until he finally stops saying that we should be quite because the others are sleeping. After that we had our first proper conversation. We talked about Simon and Izzy and how cute they are, well Jace would prefer the 'rat face' to stay away from his sister - this comment ended in me punching him in the arm for the nickname, I think hurt me more that him though. We talk about Magnus and Alec, apparently Jace never even knew Alec was gay and had been trying to set him up with girls all year. We talked about the fact I was new to school and how I was finding it. We talked about how I'm the only one in our group without a boyfriend/girlfriend. This topic was more him teasing me but still it was really nice to see this side of Jace. Sure there was a lot of teasing and laughing throughout our talking but it was just a really nice conversation, and I'm beginning to like Jace more and more. I think the Jace I had come to know was just a shell of him, sure he is still arrogant and cocky but he is much nicer and sweeter than the other Jace. These are the thoughts going through my head as I fall asleep lying next to Jace. The next morning I wake up with my head lying on Jace's shoulder and the smell of pancakes cooking. I follow the smell to find Izzy cooking. Soon everyone comes into the room and Jace looks worriedly at Izzy and then says "Hey Izzy I appreciate you making breakfast but maybe we could just like eat toast or something. I'm not really in the mood for pancakes." And everyone agrees, I wonder why everyone is so resistant to eat the pancakes. Izzy has been working hard to make them, I feel like I should eat them but decide against it and agree with everyone else. After we eat our toast Maia, Izzy and I head up to Izzy's room to talk and do girly things. Not exactly my style, but I'm having a sleepover with Izzy what else would I expect. We talk about Izzy and Simon and Izzy explains what happened in the room. "Well first he just looked shocked and said 'you like me' pointing to himself and being really confused," she starts "it was really cute but I was annoyed that you guys told him. I told him that I did and after that he kissed me and then we left the room." "Yeah guys are so cute together! And I think Maia and I deserve a thank you for setting you two up!" I say. "Thanks guys and how about the kiss you Jace had last night." She says "what about it, it was just a dare." I reply. "Oh come on Clary that was not just a truth or dare kiss. That was way too long and deep for just that." Izzy tells me. "She's right you know" adds Maia. "What are you guys talking about. Plus Jace has a girlfriend." I say "So you do like him!" Izzy says. "What no! What on earth would make you think that?" I reply shocked that she would even think that. "I never even suggested that either of you like each other and you are already trying to convince us and yourself you don't. Plus you were leaning against each other this morning, you kissed last night, you guys were obviously flirting - in your own weird way - when he was tickling you, and now your more red than a tomato!" Izzy explains. But I don't like Jace do I, I couldn't possibly like him! But I did enjoy kissing him and the conversations we had last night were really nice and I want to be around him. I think he's really hot but I also think he has a great personality. Oh crap maybe I do like him! "Oh my god Izzy I think I like Jace! Oh crap but I can't like Jace! And plus he has a girlfriend and ughhhhh I can't like him!" I say "oh but you do!" Izzy says. Once I realised my feelings for Jace we just talked until Simon texted me asking when I was going to be back. I said bye to them and headed home.

This chapter is quite a bit longer than my other two, from now on they will be closer to this length, but not quite. Hopefully it's good!
